The Nerd Nest, PCE (Personal Computing Environment), 4 axis of motion for the DIY home builder.
The Nerd Nest, was designed for the DIY builder that takes computer experiences to the next level. I designed and built toward the CAD/Engineering and "Gamer/Simulator" type, who also can build things in their garage with typical simple wood working, minor electrical, and minor "Arduino" programing (minimum of being able to load the Nerd Nest control program into the Arduino control system, which is optional above and beyond the "Manual/Button-knobs" control system. I used two Klutch Welding tables, added a Peg-board (with a Power Strip), also added below table cabinets for all the fabrication tools for the tables. Got a Over Head Console from a 2004 Mountaineer, swapped the OE brain out to an Arduino Mega that controls the 2x16 LCD display, and it also controls a GPS (and displays it data), and a Temperature/Humidity Sensor that is also displays. Building a custom TFT/LCD dash display for a retro-mod vehicle, so I can have "Modern" vehicle status and warning icon displays. I also got a Mustang EPAS working with the Can-Bus, and got a Mantic Clutch working with a MT-82 Transmission with MGW Shifter. Took a while to get some odd exhaust fittings so I could vent it out the test room.

Modified the wiring on the Starkey kit, to also handle higher amp separate fog lights (night driving lights), and used Forscan to enable the Fog Light indicator to turn on & off along with the replacement OE Fog Light switch, Also added a Diode so that the BCM back-bleed current would not latch on the solid state latching relay in the starkey kit.

This is designed & printed to fit snugly onto the pancake stepper motor on the Bondtec DDX drive, I used one of those cheap harbor freight gauges that measures in the thousands of inches (0.001"). Had to plumb in an exhaust port through the wall, and hook up the Tach to the converter box. Next I will plumb in the remote oil filter and oil cooler circuit to make sure it is bug-free. Then I will have to rebuild the MT82 transmission, and swap out to the Mantic Clutch and new OE central hydraulic throw out bearing.

It was going to go into a 1976 triumph spitfire, but, guy made an offer on the car at a car show that was to good to turn down, so let the car go. Then Another fella who had done an ecoboost 2.0 swap into his hot-rod, blew that engine, and needed another one. Mine was exactly what he had, so sold it to him. It was completely bone stock 2.0, less than 1 hour of run time on the engine.

New Hinge pins and Hinge Gaskets make a WORLD of difference in old cars. I had to do the same thing on a 1978 Monte Carlo I had years ago. I miss that car , but I let it go due to not having enough funds to fix it like it needed. Hope you keep your car. I'd love to see it (maybe a video of it in a walk around??). GOD BLESS YOU.
