Right now I am running Ubuntu 25.04 (Linux), AMD 5900X3D, AMD 7900XTX and 128 gigs of ram.

I am sorry about that to be honest I am not sure what is causing the lags. I have a 5800X3D with 128 gigs of ram. I do have a 7800X3D cpu but no other parts for it right now. In the new year I was hoping on getting ram and motherboard for it. Again I am sorry about the lags I will try much harder moving forward.

100% agree with you I can not draw so AI art is the only thing I can do. When I was trying to figure out something for this series. This type of picture was the only thing I could think to use with what I could find at the moment.

I 100% agree with you about this but my understanding with Nexus Mods is that it is only for Windows. If there is a Ubuntu client that I can use I would and will use it. :-)

I really love this version of BattleTech/MechWarrior the only thing that sucks. That there was and will never be a sequel to this game. I would have loved to see this story keep going. :-)

@@theeastcoastretrogamer8413 I vaguely remember having to use a third party tool, I think it was Kali, to get Netmech working over dialup. Really fond memories. Also love you are using the cockpit glass and "impact" mods. The bullets showing up in the cockpit glass when a headshot lands is always a highlight for me.

Thank you after finding that mod for the glass cockpit it is now a must for me. I don't remember a program called Kali but again Netmech was a life time ago. Just remembering how cool it was going head to head with my friend. :-)

I am running a little over 20 mods I need sometime to get the list but my gameplay is pretty heavy modded. :-)

I see the Jinx mod, particle effects for lasers, cockpit glass, cockpit glass damage, maybe fire and brimstone for lighting and combat fx, better back paperdoll (removes legs from back view); looks like Merctech is running instead of YAW (don't see the hot keys for night vision and reactor flush from YAW, but could be due to different HUD)

Just taking a look at your motherboard maybe you should think about maxing out your ram as we'll. Looks like you can take 128 gigs of ram. Also your motherboard will take the 5800X cpu as long as your bios is updated. There is a little leaning curve with Ubuntu (linux) but it works better for me than Windows. :-)

If I would not worry about the speed of your ram I would if it was myself. Try to get your cpu upgraded and upgrade your ram. The motherboard you have can max out really good and the pricing for ram and cpu is not that bad on Amazon. For your hard drive are you using a NVME or SSD that would make s difference as we'll. Your motherboard looks like it would take 1 NVME drive. :-)

I think so as well I played this so much back in the day on our Amiga 500. :-)

But the NES never sounded this bad

The Amiga was a far superior computer for it's time. At a time it had better sound and graphics than any Dos or Windows games. :-)

Everyone is aloud to there opinion I have the NES version as we'll. For myself the audio and the graphics are really bad on the NES version.
