Thanks for the comment, although traditional cooking would be over live fire with the fat left on seasoned with salt. I wanted to try something different and it turned out pretty good.

How long does a hot fire like that last?
We had this going for about 4hrs running the grates at around 560, the B&B charlogs help keep the temps high for a long time. We kept the grill running for another few hours at around 300 then moved the fire box down to cool it off

Viewers are mad because you treated this picanha like a trip-tip or brisket. Respecting the delicious fat cap, Picanhas are best grilled over an open wood flame, just like Brazilians do with Rodizio, using plain coarse or flake sea salt.
