Paying your rent weekly means paying your rent 52 times a year. 52 divided by 4 is 13. So, you are paying rent 13 months a year instead of 12 months a year. Very sneaky.

As much as this video as been helpful you won't do all the bank stuff in one day it's a bit more complicated than that . Proving you have a permanent residence is usually the first part of the problem . Also the IRD number takes a few days to arrive so give yourself a week to sort all that out . Just talking from experience as I have just starting living here 👌I understand making the video sound as positive as possible though for first timers . Sometimes better to just face the reality instead of making it sound too easy 🙏

Kiwi here. Woolworths is quite expensive - I avoid them in NZ and shop at Pak N Save - way cheaper. Australian grocery prices are far more expensive than what we get told they are in NZ. Overall Aus and NZ prices are about the same from what I've seen over the last week or two. Meat is cheaper in Aus, but some of the other products are more expensive in Aus.

It’s quite interesting to see this as someone from the U.S. While I do live in one of the more expensive cities in my nation, my expenses would be as follows in NZ$: $2500 Rent $1200 Car Insurance $1000 Food $300 Parking(in a downtown area) $120 Phone While my income would be about $80,000 NZD.

Rent seems to be the big thing. I know this is a year ago but yours seemed to be very cheap. I live in Canberra and have a modest mortgage on a 1 br apartment about a 15 minute drive from the cbd. I've had it for 10 years and I'm paying 400 aud per week. It's a little more than the minimum needed by about 30-40 and recent interest rate rises have pushed it up a bit but I understand people who are renting pay a good deal more these days.

You pay for the journey, nothing else.

When you factor in travel times to the airport, check in times, baggage allowances, then travel fron Edinburgh airport into the city, the time difference isn't that great. Add either airport parking at Heathrow or transport to it not a great saving if you plan ahead and get an advanced train ticket and book your seat.

Could have gotten 6 flights for the price of that ticket.

How could you go to South Melbourne market and not have the Dim Sum.

My parents used to fill my stockings with apples, oranges and nuts. Buying a bag of each of those things will now cost more than $20. 😵‍💫 1 bag of apples at my local coop = $7.99 1 bag of oranges = $5.99 1 bag of assorted nuts =$12.99 😵‍💫😵‍💫😭

Shiiiit i hang stockings only as decorations. Nothing in them. Its so rare ppl actually give me what i want for christmas and all i want are books from my wish list or a giftcard to a bookstore. I live in a ti y home and ppl always gift me random ass things and then i have to goodwill them because i have no room or use for the item.
