A studio visit interview with artist David Humphrey, who has been one of my favorite artists since my undergrad years.
Well said. Taking action and putting the work in is what makes things happen.
Hey stalking strangers for hours until the perfect pic is acquired actually paid off 😂

❤Sachiko Abe’s work Cut Papers is a series of works that created a surplus of meaning within an apparently simple aesthetic economy. In Cut Papers Abe invited the audience to experience an intimate space in which the constant snipping of scissor blades was the only measure of time passing.❤
wow this speaks to me. Why not tell the artists name??
rest in peace ...
Wow. Thanks for the info and insight. I feel this too
*Okayy but why this artist had to subject himself into so much pain and struggles, which definitely ended up with tons of injuries, when he could've just done the same with a stuntman wearing some kinda transparent latex or sum, covering the whole of his body to protect himself from cuts and potential injuries and then make use of fake blood or red dark coloring, to then attempt delivering this art to the public in order to get the desired reaction, motive and result of such an art, but done in a much safer and controlled way where nobody, especially himself, gonna get tons of cuts and injuries and not be left with the struggles and pain of it all..* 😄🤗
This artist had a message and I don't think his message was "art safety". He is the artist. The art is painful. The emotion is painful. The message and story is about borderline self inflicted pain and discomfort. Art is an amazingly radical form of expression. It's supposed to make us question and feel something uniquely to self.
Performance art is often about proving a point and not necessarily keeping it safe. Look up Marina Abramović, her stuff is sometimes crazy dangerous.
Definitely felt like that.
😮😮😮❤❤❤
Let me know what's your reflection on this craftmanship ;)
The first one nice 👌
I love how they transform the abstract idea of creativity and transform it into something that looks tangible.
