Mine didn’t either at first , here’s what to do this is gonna sound very stupid but I took a screenshot of the document turning it into a photo then sent it back to files I turned it into a PDF there and the symbol appeared.

If the pen symbol isn't appearing it might be because you are looking at a word doc rather than a PDF. Easily done. You can open a word doc in Pages, save as a PDF, and then use this method with that new file. Apologies for delay in response, I don't seem to get notifications for comments at the moment.

This requires no app, it's just part of the OS. You can use an app like PDF Expert to do a similar job too.

Yeah it’s a nice feature. I think a lot of people get caught out by the fact that it doesn’t work this way with .doc files so you need to save them as PDFs before this works this way. Thanks for the support 😊

If you’ve got no pen icon I would suggest that what you have opened is not a pdf, perhaps it’s a word file instead (.doc)?

Can you confirm where you have document open? And also is it definitely a pdf? This will not necessarily work straight away with other file types

That seems very odd. When you say blank, do you mean completely blank or they just don’t have the markup you’ve added with the pencil?

Very glad I could help. Those morph settings can be so handy for exactly that, replacing an effect that you need once a show that you don’t want to have to carry around. I still love using a combination of Kemper and pedals but in certain situations the simplicity of just needing the remote can’t be beat.

I recently picked up a spring loaded expression from Mission so I am planning to actually set that up to give me even more accurate “whammy” style control over that effect now 😊

Ah ok great. The one downside of being entirely software based. Sometimes bugs can creep in I guess. Enjoy your whammy-like sessions! I it can also be fun to set it in reverse so you get a down octave, don’t often hear people mess with that.

Cheers. I am really happy with it. Since filming this I have discovered they do make a more advanced wireless controller so I am considering checking that out but for this small form factor I don’t think you can go wrong.

Yup it’s just plug and play with Logic. I’m not sure if that’s the same with all DAWs but I certainly expect so with the major ones

I’m glad you found that because I couldn’t remember why was in the neck of that guitar. Sadly I sold the guitar a few years back but it’s one of those I think I should probably have held on to. The iPad recognises the differences between the pen and fingers. Most applications will reject the input from fingers whilst using the pen but it’s usually a setting that can be adjusted to taste. Hope that helps.

An interesting point. I guess I just didn’t think it would make any difference showing it spinning since they all do that...

I’m afraid that goes beyond the scope of this video. I haven’t used Windows in earnest for a long time so I’m not really that familiar with what the latest software for things like this would be. There are plenty of good esigning tools online (Adobe have their own in fact) so that may be something to look at for your needs. As for signing with your pen, I would expect you can use draw tools on a pdf with then pen so you should be able to sign that way.

It is but there are also plenty of document reader apps available too with even more versatile functionality

I’m afraid i don’t. I’m sure you could hunt around on eBay for isolator circuits as I have in the past but in truth by the time you’ve sourced the right thing and then found cases for it all to go in you start to see how the GigRig get to what I consider not outrageous pricing. Plus they offer great support on their equipment which you won’t get with Chinese production units you’ll find elsewhere.

@@Joegreenofficial Well, I don't have Chinese supports, I use CIOKS but I would like to isolate some pedals and I don't find anything, just this gigrig but I don't know if it would work with another power, the truth is that it would be extraordinary.

Which CIOKS device do you have? I believe they’re all already isolated

@@Joegreenofficial Yes, of course, they are isolated, but I'm talking about the cable to the pedal, some pedals do not hurt.

I think CIOLS would recommend only running one device off of each output. In my experience digital pedals should definitely be isolated but often with analogue pedals you can daisy chain two or three without too much trouble so perhaps if you can set your rig up that way you won’t have any trouble. If you’re hoping to connect several digital pedals they’re current draw is likely to be higher so I would recommend upgrading to a different power supply with more outputs anyway. The Isolator is never going to give you more current than the one output you are powering it from anyway (which if it’s 300mA probably means only getting 150mA per pedal with two plugged in, 100mA with 3 and 75mA with 4). Digital pedals mostly won’t be happy about that (maybe ok at 150mA depending on the pedal).

I haven’t ever tried running an Isolator from a separate power supply, only from a Distributor. I suspect it would work but each isolated output wants to produce about 150mA of current if I remember correctly so from a 300mA outlet you couldn’t power loads of pedals regardless. I will say that I accept no responsibility for damaged pedals etc if you choose to try this at home 😊

I actually don’t have this guitar any more. I regret selling it though, it was a lovely guitar and that pickup combination was great. Definitely would recommend.

No worries man, it’s a super handy trick. I often use a full pedalboard with my Kemper (video for that at some point) but if I’m doing a pretty small gig or space is limited then being able to still get these sounds with just the remote is a life saver. Let me know if you have any troubles 👍

Actually I'm glad you asked. I have found the battery life to be much lower than I had hoped, probably only 3/4 days of fairly heavy use (I spend 8 hours or more at my computer as well). Having said that, I don't have any particular cause to be unplugged. I have a USB power hub on my desk and since this video I purchased the MX Master 3 so I actually just use one USB C cable which sits right by the charging port which is on the same side I have my mouse so I can keep both devices charged nicely. I do think it's a shame the battery life is short but it certainly hasn't impacted my experience with this keyboard and if I wanted to sit further away for some reason or have the keyboard elsewhere in my studio to operate the machine then it wouldn't be any issue at all so it doesn't affect my recommendation of this keyboard. It feels great to use. If you're used to a Mac keyboard layout then it definitely takes a while to get used to some of the function key positions but it's great. One other thing to note is that it takes a while to switch to my iPad Pro. That's a flaw in the iPad rather than the keyboard, but important to know that you can't flip as quickly between devices as I would like. I've had no connectivity issues at all. I find the mouse has more problems with that but I think it's simply to do with the huge number of devices I'm running here, probably way more than any sensible person, and also my old iMac showing it's age, the Bluetooth chips in these 2011 ones don't support the latest versions of Bluetooth so I'm having to use the unifying receiver which I think perhaps is less than ideal. Joe Green thanks this is very helpful! To clarify, two points as I’m limited on ports, I’d rather not spend one on their receiver, do you feel Bluetooth will be sufficient from a 2015 MacBook? Also, I don’t mind charging every night, but do you feel the battery will last a full 8-10 workday? Thanks much for your detailed response!

Oh I think you should be able to get a full working day no problem. If I leave mine unplugged from a full charge I get several days for sure. I also think the Bluetooth in a 2015 MacBook will be fine, I’m pretty certain that they have Bluetooth 4.0 by then which is significantly more capable. I do think the keyboard is overpriced to be honest, but I also think it’s a very nice keyboard, and I’m very happy with it despite that. I think the normal MX Keys is a much better price point unless you’re desperate for that creative input dial which I admit I haven’t used as much as I thought I would. Best of luck with it 👍

Joe Green thanks! FYI, ya I really think that Crown will be useful for I do mostly Photoshop, but I really like the backlighting and the dedicated keys like screenshots. For what it’s worth, it IS overpriced at $200 US, but I see it direct through Logitech for $170, which helps. Thanks again!

I think for someone using Photoshop or similar all day that creative dial will be super handy. I find myself using my iPad for all that stuff more and more these days so I’m not getting as much use out of it as I’d imagined. Enjoy it man and thanks again for watching and commenting 👍
