Thank you for uploading this video of what thankfully never happened. One aspect that I believed that has been missed is the effect of Spetznaz. The Soviets were quite good at information warfare and may have disabled a good amount of the air force or key infrastructure on the ground.

The most realistic war videogame franchise. And this game in particular, SO ahead of its time! I started replaying it some days ago and i'm surprised with how many complex and subtle things i'm still discovering, and even some mechanics that milsims from 20 years later are using now. PS: I was proud of how i wasn't dying, with my adult skills, until i reached "After Montignac". I ended up dying 9 times on that mission; it was as difficult as i remembered (even if luckily i found out a way to beat it easily, on my 10th attempt). PS 2: I just found out that the voice of David Armstrong (one of the protagonists) is the Doc in "Generation Kill", which i watched a week ago.

I used to watch this trailer in my XP Pc when i was 7-10 age bracket. That time this was epic for me.

I've seen this clip played on a British panel show, but I can't remember which one.

The whole idea was that the Swedish air force, coastal artillery and naval forces would be strong enough to potentially inflict so much losses on the soviet invasion that it would deter them from even trying. And if they did attack us it would be a matter of delaying the soviet advances long enough including on land to get help from NATO since even if Sweden was neutral, NATO would have to intervene anyway to not risk losing Norway also which would mean losing the advantage of controlling the northern Atlantic and Baltic Sea from Scandinavia. Remember that during the Cold War Sweden had a conscription based defense force of almost 1 million in different branches of the military.

I vividly remember one of these episodes (not this exact game variant) around this time. People were going to guess a 7 letter word, first by saying a letter and if the letter was in the word, it was shown. The word had gotten to F_ _THÅL. There were several guesses on unrealistic words such as "farthål" (speed hole) etc. Finally, one caller brought up the elephant in the room, which was the only sensible guess, and he said "fitthål" (pussy hole). According to the hostess, it was the wrong guess. No one had the right answer, and they had to reveal the word with no winner. Apparently, the correct word was "festhål" ("party hole") which is a complete nonsense word. Somewhere along the line I believe someone in the staff had made a practical joke and geared it all toward fitthål, but someone pulled the plug and tried to save face by having the correct answer be something else, trying to ignore the fact there was no reasonable word other than fitthål which could fit.

Relativt overkligt skulle jag säga. Sverige som hade en av dom mest vältränade arméerna i världen samt 4de största flygvapnet skulle nog inte falla så snabbt. Svenska försvaret tränade otroligt hårt och likt riktig strid
