The World Harmony Chorus is a community chorus, open to singers of all ages and abilities, with branches in Mountain View and Oakland, CA. Daniel Steinberg founded the chorus in 1999, and Betsy Blakeslee has been directing the Oakland branch since 2008.

A ako bude dobra možda joj se na brdu iznad Braya pojavi Berek iznad Unikonzuma! I onda da kleči na koruzi sa peharčekom kod Ladislave u knjižnici! Kako bi rekla NK Krmača dječica su angeleki i naravno da jeste tako pa nam je i Dušanka zapjevala u svjetskom zboru Anđela u prvom redu! Ječati = Skičati I da se lijepo nabijaju suhi u subotu svaki dan života svoga i bili prokleti uvijek za cijelu vječnost!

Culture appropriators 😠😤😤
Though i share your concern about cultural appropriation, allow me to explain how and why we sing songs from different cultures. Our mission as a chorus is to expose ourselves and others to the musical traditions and heritage of cultures from around the world. In a given year, our repertoire includes one song from each of several sources: Africa, Latin America, Middle East, Scandinavia, Québec, Eastern & Western Europe, etc. We learn these songs as a way of connecting to other cultures, and when we perform them we provide background as to the sources and the traditions behind them. In so doing, we celebrate the importance of diversity and expose others to the rich and valuable musical traditions of other cultures. We do this as a way of countering the ingrained xenophobia and racism that seem dangerously prevalent in our society. I don't believe that we "appropriate" these songs in any way: we use them to learn about and honor the magnificent cultures that have produced them.
