Meredith could of had a stroke. That stroke lead her into a coma where she dreamt up all the seasons since before Derek 's death. When she wakes up...Derek 's there with the kids more grown up....George didn't die....all the rest....but she doesn't remember Derek, she doesn't remember her kids, nor being a surgeon....she learns who she is in the next seasons.....her adventure is finding herself again.....the end of season show is leaving to find herself again..on her terms..... sounds like a good idea for a script to me.....its TV ANY of that kind of stuff is possible with TV ..awww the joy of fantasy...writing..... Okay I don't know if anybody noticed this, but, in the first episode of the s5, Derek leaves Meredith at the plot of the house (to break up with the scrub nurse) , Meredith waits and after some time, we can see her rushing to Seattle Grace where she sees that Derek met with a car accident and could't be revived by Cristina, and Webber and Bailey try to console her, and then it all turned out to be a nightmare. BUT, then in the S11 episode in which Derek dies, as the episode starts out, we can see them comparing this episode with s5e1 (showing scenes from that episode and similarly crafted dialogues between the two), and then Derek dies due to a car accident. Pretty good writing and throwback connection by the writers.

This show was over when they lost Derrick and Christina. Actually the heart of it died when it lost the original cast. Everything after was just soap, boring.
