My dog Sadie (Duck Tolling Retriever) has this condition too. It ranges in frequency from once every few weeks to once a day. After trying different medications and diets, I took her to a Neurologist. He said that head bobbing syndrome is not a seizure-related disease. It is generally completely benign. This was a relief because our regular vet told us we may need to get ultrasounds, liver biopsies, MRIs.. a couple thousand dollars. The Neurologist recommended just keeping a log of occurrence.

Hi ive owned boxers for 20 years and have only seen this in one of my dogs. Ive tried to research it as much as possible and had my boy checked by the vet, who was totally lost. I got the most helpful info from a doberman breeder who had seen this too. Its not epilepsy and doenst have any life threatening impact on them. It does seem to be breed related. Ours started at about 18 months old, we havent seen if for a few years now, and hes 13 years old now !!!! So no shortening of life. Good luck.

Today the vet made the diagnose brain infection with the dog og my friend, aske your vet about it, her dog is now getting a verry high antibiotic 800mg per day shaking head syndrome dogs Ask your vet about it, ore google around. Good Luck with your pretty dog
