Nice job. Is there any reason I shouldn't do my corner joint with a 45° cut?
@@LifeAccordingToMatt Thank you . If you have 90 degrees corner you can do it , no problem. Just to let you know that is more difficult: After you cut the worktop you have to shave it with the router for a tight fit. Also is more difficult to use the worktop bolts. You need worktop bolts for 45 degree.
@@valentinointeriors3023 Roger that, thanks for the info, much appreciated.
@@LifeAccordingToMatt You are welcome 👍
Great video! Did you cut the sink out after the worktop had been bolted? How did you make sure not to cut into the intergrated D/W?
@@nachobanditchannel Hi . Thank you for your message. Yes, I did cut the worktop for sink after installation. I will normally cut this before but here I just did a video with the duration of installation of the worktops . It was on the channel at that time . So I have a plunge saw and it is easy to adjust the depth of cut just to cut the worktop . The corners get cut with the multi tool nice and easy. Normally the D/W is 5mm bellow the worktop , so it can be done .
Hey planning on attempting this, how much of a gap do I need to leave between the wall and the insulation board?
@@batetambetanyi7015 Hi . There is no requirement for space between insulation and wall . You need to leave space between wall and tiles , screed , wooden subfloor. The heating mat should be installed about 10cm away from the wall.
Thank you ver my much for getting me back to me so quickly, how much of a gap do you recommend between the screed and the walls, as it’s a liquid initially what would I need to achieve the gap what you recommend using screed edging perimeter strips?
Where are you based? Id love to hire you to tile the whole of my downstairs.
@@libralove7410 Hi . I am not living in Uk anymore.
@@valentinointeriors3023 Ohhh Nooooo! Come back hahahaha
@@libralove7410 maybe in the future. You never know 🙏
Sorry mate. Completely wrong. You do not use tile backer boards over floorboards. Concrete boards only. And to think all the people who have watched this. The adhesive on the floorboards will crack, then the foam will slowly break down over time.
How big a gap do you have between the top of the dishwasher and the worktop
@@michaeljohnson7622 Hi . Around 3-5mm.
Hi, what gap did you leave between the tiles? Nice video, very helpful as the herringbone pattern is getting very polular.
@@BigFly028 Hi . We used 2mm spacers .

Thanks for the video so if you are slightly too high or low with the dw door you can adjust all the units around to match it correct? Are you adjusting the doors or the whole units?
@@joshuagill3855 Hi . The easiest way is to install the dishwasher at the right level from the beginning. You just need to match the units level . You can adjust the level afterwards . I will not adjust all the units around as this is too much work. I will adjust the dishwasher if necessary.

Why not just tile straight onto the cement board?

@@SpiralMind-c6r Thank you .
Does this protect the floorboards? I'm buying a house and some have floorboards sunken, so I'll have to replace them, just wondering if tiling is more durable than carpet etc to protect floorboards (in terms of damp etc)
Hi . I will not cover the floorboards with tiles to protect them. Carpet or flooring will be just fine . The floorboards that are bad will have to be replaced with new ones.
@@valentinointeriors3023 thanks. Do you think it's possible the panels have sunk due to heavy furniture being on the top for many years and having no central heating so creating damp/cold spot in that corner?
@@hln1969 . Yes , definitely. We see this all the time . Specifically under the bathtub. If heavy items are on the floorboards or chipboard they can sunk a bit.
@@valentinointeriors3023 thanks, the survey mentioned so many 'could be's' but nothing specific. (Ie air vent brick too low, chimney leak, gutter leak, drains). All they did was a visual check... They didn't look under floorboards. Obviously, I'll try to have each area looked at when I can afford it, but it's difficult knowing where to start.
@@hln1969 . I would recommend to check every area that doesn’t look right when you’re doing the floors. I now is not easy specially after you bought the house . Most of the time there is no buget left for that . It was the same for us . So when the time comes make sure you are checking if everything is ok , don’t just cover it as it may get worse in time and you may have to do it again. Best of luck 🤞

Hi we are in Ireland, I think you are back home but if you were here I would ask you to do this work. Question please? Can we use a 20mm backer board to increase insulation on a wooden suspended floor like the one you show? (we don't want to take up floorboards as too messy). Then we intend to put carpet over it in living rooms. Lino floor covering in the Kitchen. PS if you are interested in doing this job and more jobs, let me know.
Hi . Thank you for your offer and for your message. Unfortunately i will not travel this year as I have a lot going on here. This insulation is for a solid cover ( tiles , flooring). I don’t think to be a good idea to use it for carpet and linoleum. So maybe use laminate flooring in stead otherwise you need to use different backer boards, or plywood.
I’ve just got my first fixing of plumbing in bathroom and I’m back to old boards. Do I lay 12mm ply down? Then would you need some sort of sheet or anything on top of that or can you tile straight on top. Thanks
Hi . I would install a 12 mm backer board instead of ply . The backer board should be glued with flexible tile adhesive and secured with screws. Then you can tile straight on top. Don’t forget to use primer prior the backer board install and before the tiles install
Nice video
Thank you
Awesome video bro, thank you

Hi, which wooden primer do you recommend please?
@@PKumar-q8x Hi . SBR bond from Bal or primer G from Mapei . This is what I always used without problems.

Hello how I can connect two heating electrick mat ? to one termostat we buy 2x 25 m mat I need conect 2 together in one termostat. Do you can help me? Thanks a lott
@@dannykin9672 Hi. First you have to check the power of the thermostat. Normally the thermostat goes up to about 15 square meters of under floor heating ( depending on the wattage) . 2 x 25 m mats may be too much for one thermostat. The way that you connect the wires is the same like you have a ring circuit in a socket. So the mat cables goes both in the same place in thermostat. Very important to check how much watts the thermostat can take otherwise it will burn. If you have more wattage then the thermostat you can install 2 thermostats or hire an electrician. There is another way of installation with just one thermostat but I can’t tell you how to do it as I don’t know.
Okey I understand Thank you a lott If its to mutch wats for termostat its better place 2 singel termostats and will by also great One more time thanks 🎉
omg!! first you do all the other line level one side with others sides then start inner tiles
You can do whatever works for you . Important is the final product . There is no good or wrong here.
Hi’ Good work. I want to do the same work in the bathroom on the first floor. The floor is made of wood, and I want to use 1200mm/600mm tiles on the wall and floor. What adhesive for wall and floor tile's I use? Thank you in advance.
Hi . Depending where about you are. If you are in Uk you can use adhesives from Ball , Topos tiles , or Mapei . The adhesive has to be flexible and is very important to use a primer before. Any of this adhesives will do the job . Thank you for your appreciation.
thank you for your last response, I would like to ask you if SBR bond is good for primer and for BAL flex ONE tile adhesive to glue the tile boards and or even to glue the 1200mm / 600 mm tiles thank you for your response advice in advance yes I in UK
@@benzrom5096 Hi . Yes , you use the SBR for priming and the adhesive to glue the boards and tiles . Bal flex one is a good adhesive. If you are priming a wood surface do not dilute the primer.
thank you very much for your quick response I have another question because you are in the construction field, there are people who say when they cover a wood floor with vinyl or tiles that the wood floor will rot because the steam water cannot escape it is true or false thank you and good luck.
@@benzrom5096 Hi . That is false. The steam , moisture should never escape through ceilings, floors or walls. The humidity should escape through windows or extractor fans. I will not be worried about this at all. Thank you

No bevel on the hinge side?
I have the same type of subfloor in my entryway, but it has layers of old paint that can't be sanded off - can the same process of adhering the backer board be done in my situation?
Hi . Ideally you want to scratch the paint off. Use very rough sand paper ( 40 grit ), or an electric planer if possible. A very good wood primer for tiling and then the steps from the video .
@@valentinointeriors3023 Thank you!

To mark out your male cut you could have laid the F cut on top, marked out on the top and transferred to the underside.

Great video mate, but you don’t explain why you left 14 centimetres? Instead of 10 that the company states. Can you please explain ?
@@adamlucas7059 Thank you . I left 14cm because we did herringbone pattern tiling . I wanted to cut the tiles on the edges after installation. thanks for the vid, if I only wanted to cover half the floor with the underfloor heating, do I just need to insulate board where the mats are? do I just use self level screed to level up the rest?
@@rss2030 Hi . You can do that. If you do insulation board everywhere is a better result. This way you are not losing any heat and also it will be easier to get a level floor everywhere. It will not work out much cheaper to do levelling compound .

What makes you decide to not use the standard silicone flexible membrane backing for hardwood floors in this application? I can’t think of the exact name of what I’m referring to but it’s usually orange silicone type backing that goes on I see sometimes after the thin set which I presume would be used to partially level it out where it is close to that anyway. I guess I’m asking in part why no membrane here or you just prefer that first material you mentioned (insulating board?)?
Hi . The membrane is called Uncoupling membrane from Schluter . That membrane is not suitable for floorboards. It is only for ply, OSB and chipboard. For floorboards you need to use this one or cement boards, or other tile backer boards , no membranes.
Sorry I'm late to this party, but for a bathroom application, would it be fine to paint a waterproof membrane over the self-leveling compound before laying the tiles?
Great job
Thank you
I am currently waiting for plumber to come and planning to have this built in waschmachine. Are there any special requirments for water supply and drainage behinde this built in wasching machine? I will definetly make sure he knows i will have that but what should i be carefull when checking if it is allright. How much space do I need behind? Thank you. Great video!
Hi . Normally I don’t run anything behind the integrated washing machine . Usually there is no space to push the washing machine in if you have a socket or water outlet. This depends of the kitchen manufacturer. I always install the water outlet and the socket under the sink if is next to the washing machine. Otherwise behind one of unit that is next to the washing machine. Someone under the unit if there is no space behind. I hope this helps
