    This was a lil painfull to watch, but he definitely has a gettr dun mentality, and he is in his back yard. Glad the winch did eventually work off of the tap-tap method. When he hammered home the standard nut in a jam nut situation was scary if the housing broke. Yet he made out. Good luck young man!

    Take this for what you will young man, but you took the time to pull the fenders and bumper off, do a beautiful job blocking and prepping them. Why not have just used a spray gun and some semi decent quality materials? You can get some really decent paint from Summit Racing for like the cost of two rattle cans? You did a beautiful job, but it sucks that it won’t last very long in the elements.

      @@Getoutandwrench I'm surprised that I found this one. It was in an old barn and I was saving it from the scrap metaller . Ya know , I'm no spring chicken and back in the day, this is the kind of stuff I learned on. But it has been a few years. I'm retired now , and this will give me something to do with my time. I am interested in how you come along with yours and we'll see just how good I USED to be. Lol. " I ain't as good as I once was, but I can be as good ,once, as I ever was " (Toby Keith )

    One tip to help you out for next time. Good that you used oil when drilling into steel. If you slow down the drill RPM as slow as you can, your bits will last much longer. This is the reason why drill presses and band saws setup for metal work operate at much lower speeds than those for wood working. Youll be surprised how much better it works at slow speed especially if you keep adding oil.

    • @tdotw77
      @tdotw77 Год назад

      Yes, slow speed, lubrication, & get yourself a center punch(spring loaded are easiest but hammer operated works too) to start the holes exactly where you want them - in the center punch divet.

  • @dangerous119

    Nick, i give you points for being authentic. You didn't check that the winch was working off camera before filming and some might critique you for fhat, but your approach is valuable to those who will encounter obstacles. Camera keeps rolling and you work through solving the problem. Persistence is important for jobs like this. Some prefer a video that FF through the tedious process but there's value in that too. I say keep doing what youre doing.
