Blacko Tower: A Lancashire Landmark You Can't Miss
High above the Gisburn to Barrowford road a simple castellated tower dominates the skyline. It was built by Jonathan Stansfield in the late 19th century, but no-one is quite sure why, although there are of course the stories.
A modern plaque on the tower records that it was built in 1890, and it first makes an appearance, as the ‘Stansfield Tower’, on the Ordnance Survey map surveyed in 1891-92. Stansfield is said to have built it so he could see Blackpool tower under erection, or alternatively to give a view into the Ribble Valley. How about the tickets? How much was it? Food, accommodation? Thank you.
@@joaoandre7488 we booked the catamaran through Viator it was about €120 for 2 adults and was well worth it . We booked our holiday through TUI was a good hotel but food was poor at the hotels to be honest .

@@tonyhogan2791 hello we only did bed & breakfast but standard of food was top notch . We have stayed before we loved it .
Excellent Hotel - been 3 times, last time in Sept 24, going again in a few weeks. Food is pretty decent to be honest. You need long trousers for the evening meal.... they changed the rule and I only had Jeans to go down in but they were ok with that. Weather permitting you'll have a great holiday. There are some very nice shops nearby and it's possible to watch the sun go down from a bar on the sea front.

I loved riding the trams in Melbourne we got all over the place , I used the tourist tram a lot because it was free

Hi, yes it’s a beautiful place. We have been meaning to go there for a while, was just waiting for a good day to do it 😂 unfortunately the coffee shop that was there has closed down now which is a real shame.
