I'm nuts about your music, and have subscribed to your Patreon channel (learning rosin he beau right now). but i have a question about how you hold your fiddle. I see you don't hold it with your chin, and you don't hold it with your wrist, and yet you have complete freedom and ease and control. Any suggestions? Special shoulder chin rests? Or do you have a video that answers these questions. Thank you so very much for all the inspiration !!!

Play in the primary key, accompany with 5ths underneath, then switch to only playing in the 5th. Palm to my forehead! When ever I get a chance to watch you, Liz, present a lesson, I'm amazed. You make playing the fiddle in reach of an interested student. I started my journey in 1951 on a 3/4 violin, & have a passion for it @ 81. Your violin is an interesting fiddle. It has told me who made it,where it was made, & when. I acquired a "twin" to the one you have. WOULD love to send photos if you question what I'm saying. Actually, I won't hold my breath, your two busy. Keep teaching & bringing joy to those that want to learn!

I cannot help but notice that your strings sound so warm and mellow, can you please tell me if they are steel or gut and what brand? also I know this tune on the bagpipes, and Scottish fireside pipes (small pipes) would you be interested in me sending you a video of me playing to possibly play violin to? I am forever learning the violin, but I plan on playing star of county down on Scottish small pipes in key of A along with violin, but my wife thinks i am absolutely nuts.

That was great thank you Liz, I have been playing Fiddle 3 & 1/2 years, so still a learner, your videos always explain technique so well, it is only now that I noticed I subconsciously alter my bowing to hopefully make the tune sound better, and to not run out of stick.

Excellent video- I followed it straight through. I was always told double stops are dyads, not chords. Maybe they are not literally chords, but this video really explains their relationship to chords. Maybe I didn't ask the question correctly when I was younger, but now I understand. Thanks for the video
