One of the strongest parts of my game is the short-game and wedge play. But unfortunately ive been out of the game for a while (since fall of 2020) and i figured id get back into the game this summer and maybe do some research on wedges. I hide NO IDEA mizuno dropped this wedge last year. Its essentially exactly what i was looking for. Versatile grinds, with some subtle forgiveness, and not a fat sole ala CBX4 and Callaway CB. I got a 52 and 56. Aside from the fact that the shaft is far too light for me, i really like these things. I will be working on turning them over as best as i can in the winter (damn snow 5 months outta the year) but they feel very solid, they sound amazing as well. Now i think they are blowing these out the door (i got them $120 a piece which tells me they are going to be dropping a new version s25 sometime around the 925 forged line is dropped.

I've only been golfing for about a month, my first set of clubs were the P7TW Blades and people tell me why are you using them they're harder to learn with and no forgiveness, I figured if I get good with them I'd be able to use anything else !

So the higher swing weight for example d4, your finger should be more near to the club head for stable the club ? The lower the swing weight your finger should be on the back near grip to stable the club. Is that right ?

I love it when people think it's an ego thing with blades. I learned with and still play mine. My current set is crusty, 22+year old set of Titleist 690mbs which I've been playing for 20 years. You want see ego? Just check out the golfers spending a small fortune to have the "latest and greatest".

It's strange that clubs sold as "game improvement" do nothing to actually improve your game whereas learning golf with blades actually does.

Finally someone explains it in a simple way, thank you. I have one question, does flex and kick point dictate which way the ball will go? I play a reg flex but I feel like its too whippy and I lose control, I have a 2 way miss which I don't have with my irons (DG S300 120).

I would take it a step further and explain that with the training wheels on there are very important feel that will never get developed.

Thanks for the great review, Andy. I've just tested and ordered a set of JPX 923 Forged. You are a better golfer than me, but we hit the ball about the same distance. I noticed though that I was getting a higher launch angle, a little bit more spin, and the difference between carry and total distance for me was only about 4-5 yards. Your ball flight monitor looks to be the same as the one I used. Maybe some of it comes down to different fairway/green settings.

Spot on. Had a lesson recently and was told two things, and two things only, that changed my golf for the better. Had loads of lessons along my 40 year golf journey and was never told these two things. I’m now getting those center strikes more often and they are amazing.
