Великобритания
Добавлен 14 окт 2023
I have a passion for coffee, the outdoors and RUclips, so I decided to combine them both and launch Brews with Views. Here I talk all things coffee whilst showcasing some amazing views and interesting places.
I am an amateur brewer and not a seasoned hiker so you do not need to be afraid that you have not got the skills and equipment to up your coffee game, my only aim here is to get you as excited about coffee and the outdoors as I am.

Buxton's Dangerous Blue Lagoon
Просмотров 2632 месяца назад
The Blue Lagoon in Buxton is a pool left over after the closure of Harper Hill Quarry. Every year 100's would flock to Buxton in the Peak District to take a swim in the Blue Lagoon without understanding the true impact the dangerous water would be having on them. This is a Peak District pool that is definitely not for wild swimming. 00:00 Buxton's Dangerous Blue Lagoon Intro 01:02 The Blue Lago...

An Easy Peak District Walk With A Gruesome Legend

This Peak District Walk is really easy and is the spot of a local legend. I hike through Cressbrook Dale to Peter's Stone...known locally as Gibbet Rock. By legend this place had one of the last Gibbets hanging in the UK, warning Peak District locals of the punishments for their crimes. 🎵 Music licensed from Lickd. The Roaches in The Peak District are known for their amazing view, however the fog was definitely getting in the way of this view. In this video I spend time in The Peak Districts out edge, scrambling Ramshaw Rocks, ascending Hen Cloud and checking out the view The Roaches provided. Bamford Edge For The Best Peak District View
Thanks gonna do this with my matcha green tea......well explained....
My mom's cheapo electric grinder stopped working, so I took out her cheapo decorative grinder just like this one in the vid. It's as terrible as you'd imagine :) I need my Friday cup of coffee though
I believe you are supposed to keep grinding repeatedly with the vintage one. You used it incorrect
going to visit on Wednesday, appreciate the vid. Local stokie accent too!
Funny stuff 😂
How far is this from Bradford?
@lisasims7728 probably looking at 1hr 30 drive
Comedy gold pal 😂😂
New subscriber here bud. Love watching new views on walks ive done myself. Have tried to do some myself but didn't get to many views. Last one i did was May time 2024. Ive done the peak district Ethels all 95 of them. Also all 88 Trig points in the Peak District. Will be watching some more. I might even start my channel back up. Catch you on the next one 👌
Can you take the ferry direct from peschiera lake toMalcesine to Monte Baldo where the cable cars are ? Thanks for tour video very informative
@christinamccartney7995 yea, its the stop before. Just check timetables before you do.
Thanks
Glad to see that I don't have to shell out some big money to make a good cup of coffee. Thanks for the review mate, it really helped me
Great to know, happy Brewing
That was very interesting but not exactly correct...without sounding as if I am pulling your vid to pieces I just want to clarify a few points if you excuse me and by the way it is my pleasure to subscribe as well...The first point is that Harpur Hill is spelt with a U and not an E...The next point is that The RAF ammunition dump was not here but around a quarter of a mile away and no chemical waste from them was put into the lagoon, the colour of the water is simply from the limestone...as to the other unsightly deposits you visited next you are right about water draining through the embankment and the embankment held the long gone Cromford to Whaley Bridge Railway which is now part of the safety in mines or HSE site...Ever since I can remember it has always looked that way...I am 66 now...The house or cottage that is in the hollow there is known as Brook Bottom and many years ago the blue lime water ran in front of the house and had stepping stones over it to allow access to the building...The stream was diverted and now runs underground...if you are wondering how I know this my family originated at Brook Bottom and my dad was born there...I have many photos of how the place looked dating back to the first World War...Like I said please don't feel offended by my comment...Cheers Les.🙂👍
Interesting and fair comment, thanks for taking the time. The RAF dump was something I read online but trust the word of a local more. What are the local thoughts on the turfa? This is obviously a bit of a problem.
@@brewswithviews Firstly let me thankyou for replying...You are correct with the RAF using part of Hoffman quarry to believe it or not burn chemical waste but the practice was short lived and the quarry was not closed down until 1952 and the Blue Lagoon was not flooded till after this...The main storage was under the vast tunnels which later after the forces removed apparently all munitions became the Mushroom factory and then Christian Salvesen as a huge warehouse which incidentally was where my wife worked when I met her 40 years ago...Two of my Aunties used to work in the Mushroom factory and I remember them telling me that those tunnels were haunted, sadly they have both died as well as my dad but their dad my grandad was a stone mason who helped build the original tunnels...I said earlier that all munitions were moved apparently but a friend of mine who was walking in the area was shocked when his son found a grenade and actually threw it at his dad...Bomb squad was called in and yes the grenade was live but luckily the detonator had corroded...this was about 30 years ago...The trouble is now that HSE has taken over the area which was known as Mines Research and is under very tight government security and High Peak Council does not have a say about the sludge coming from the Embankment only their feeble efforts to deter swimmers at Hoffman Quarry which will never deter visitors...sadly it is something we have to live with and probably another reason why Buxton was not allowed to be part of the Peak National Park...Cheers Les.🙂 👍
@lespickering5080 oh wow, a live grenade. That's crazy. Its amazing what could be found in these areas now I suppose. Thanks for commenting, appreciate the support.
@@brewswithviews You are so welcome...Your Channel is really good and I am slowly getting through your vids...My son and I used to have a channel called High Peak Cinematography which we sadly had to end cos of work and family commitments but all the vids we made that you have visited some of are on a playlist on my channel called Peak Memories...Now I have retired my project is to visit every Peak District Town and village but the catch is I am only allowed to use my bus pass instead of driving to the places...I only really talked on the HPC vids cos I hate the sound of my voice and my channel is all my own music and a few classical Music covers along with my fave subjects including the new project...Like I said your channel is amazing and I love it...Carry on with the great work...Cheers Les.🙂👍
So beautiful! I'm brasilian and I'm going to England in February, when the house is closed for visitation, but I did not find information about paying to do this kind of walk you did. I'm going from London to Derbyshire, getting there can acess the property without paying to park? If so, how can I get to the property? With uber? Thank you.
@pollybirnfeld hi, hope you have an amazing visit. If the house is closed you will only need to pay for the car park. Depending where you stay in Derbyshire there are buses that run into the car park. Probably best staying in Bakewell and catch the bus. Not sure the full details though.
I tried Mam Tor about 6 months back (from parking up near Blue John Cavern), but it beat me hands down, I was less than a year out from dropping dead of a heart attack though, so we just walked down the broken road into Castleton for a bit of dinner instead .... We have different ideas of what makes an easy walk 🤣
@thebograt6810 thats true, everyone has different ability levels I guess. Castleton itself is a lovely little town. I do have some walks on the channel that are almost all flat. Worth checking those out too.
Not a circular walk, is it?
@rangakumudunee3927 no, I did it linear. There are circular routes if you wanted, just have look at some maps for footpaths.
Good job, thank you for very details review 👍🏻
I went back to a percolator. I like to taste better for coffee. It’s stainless steel also no plastic
I dont use pods as much now either, they're convenient but remove the art of brewing coffee.
Nice winter hike 🙂👍❄️
@stigfloberghagenphotography thanks, it was awesome. It hasnt lasted though, hopefully we get more snow soon.
@brewswithviews 👍🙂
Finally.......a sunny hike, oh but there's snow and ice on the ground.🤣😂
Didnt last long, back to cloud and rain again haha
In fact at 14.00 dead on the video you have the buildings around it in the centre of shot 🤣
Oh mate, you can't have been more than 500 yards from the Yondermann Cafe (you nearly reached it when you passed Gibbet Rock the first time) ... They would have a light for you :P
Yes....I know Yondermann. Its a good call and didnt think about it at the time haha.
Lovely film! I did a drone film of curbar edge on the same day if you’re interested
Thanks, its a beautiful spot. I'll check it out!
Awesome views!
They are!
Really lovely to see it in winter! Was the drive over there ok?
@emmahibbert4135 roads were fine, I was concerned about the road up the edge to the car park but it was clear. The Peak is amazing in the winter, my favourite time.
Nice winter scenery! No snow over here yet. It’s been a very mild autumn temperature wise.
We have had a mild Autumn too, then just got hit with a snowbomb last week. Rain as soon come and got rid of it all now
Nice one. Looks like you had a great day. I know that rock as Eagle stone, there's a Bear stone at the Roaches. Don't know whether you mixed them up.
@pgrifter29 you are correct, i got them mixed up 😅. The roaches is closer to home for me so I prepped that as a back up if the roads were bad, clearly was still in my head haha. Thanks for watching though
How does it compare to the much more expensive Jura CD Milk Frothing Device?
Honestly, I wouldnt know as I haven't done a side by side comparison. This is good at the price point.
....the snake that's the best at maths....
Im by far the funniest RUclipsr apparently
Didnt buxton coffee give you a freebie with all this publishty you are giving them
Maybe they should haha
Bro the quality of your vids is amazing, hope you blow up soon
Really appreciate that, thanks. Fingers crossed.
Very informative
@paulcullen5015 thanks, have you been or plan on going?
Plague cottages
How does the coffee taste or should we stay with our coffee shop
@kathyfann big part of that depends on the actual pods you buy, some are better than others but none are as good as your local espresso bar.
I'm guessing there are no fish in there?🤣😂
@@SuburbanAdventures if so, they probably look like the three eyes fish on The Simpsons
During the opening I thought I was watching the nightly news. Very polished! 👍 Mic issues while making your coffee? Only asking because the same thing happened to me the other day.
Yes, I had so many mic issues this day it was unbelievable. Not a great day filming.
Interesting video, i am surprised they haven't constructed a high security fence around it. Id have thought that would be a simple but largely effective solution. I Recently went to your Secret Waterfall location in Foolow, took some family who live local to it and they never knew it was there! It was pretty spectacular and so easily missed. Thanks for that video!
@C4sp3r123 thats really good to know, glad you had a good time and you enjoyed it. The watetfall is great and thanks for the feedback. I think the same with the fence, considering how concerned they were about it and how they spend money dying it black. They could easily do more to discourage it.
Nicely put together video 👌it's a shame that something that looks so appealing can be harmful. There is a lot of problems with people visiting here for a swim every year 🤦
@ThomTopics being a local I guess you now the size of the problem. I literally saw 1 person walking a dog and thats it but I bet in summer it gets busy. I had such a nightmare filming this, wind issues with the drone, mic not working at times, falling down the hill 😅 i was fed up by the end so im glad I was able to edit it into something worth watching. Cheers.
@@brewswithviews one of those kind of days was it. Ceraintly dont want to risk loosing the drone over water due to the wind. Some years it is worse than others up there. As you saw it's generally fairly quiet if you are not there on a sunny day.
Brilliant documentary, really enjoyed! Think it’s the sad history, reminders to the outbreak and the fact that the village is still quiet that makes Eyam such a poignant place.
@CallOfTheDarkVideo yea its great. The pub is apparently haunted too, i would imagine a few spooky tales had a home here.
Nicely done mate. It's a terrific tale of tragedy infused with starting selfless sacrifice. Always interesting to visit the place.
@EddieSkelson probably one of my favourite places to visit, go back every autumn.
That horse was 100% taunting you......🤣😂
@SuburbanAdventures you know it, it kept licking its lips in anticipation of eating me
Looks nice 👍🙂
Its a great spot, very atmospheric
@brewswithviews 👍
How is it these days? Do you think it will be so cold?
@ruveydaokur5060 right now its still mild so not too bad. I remember walking it start of December once and it was thick in snow so can get cold quickly
@@brewswithviewsThank you for your prompt reply! I like the video!
Hi, could you tell me the actual name of the GOOD manual coffee grinder please? Or give me the website because I can’t find it. Thanks
@PinoTanwan it was ordered from Temu and cannot recall the exact brand and checking my previous orders its just listed as Manual Coffee Grinder and its sold out. There are loads of others very similar on Temu though.
Another great guide. Hoping to visit Luds Church very soon, so this was invaluable. Freya did less moaning than my 11 year old would have 😂 Keep up the great guides.
@andyowens-kirk8309 haha she did ok, she used be a right trooper a few years back but early teen syndrome has kicked in now. Glad you enjoyed the guide and its proved useful, best advice I can give is to get there early because the car park will soon fill up. Have fun.
‘Get there early’ is worth repeating. The car park fills very quickly.
I was surprised by how busy it was when we got there, even worse when we got back. An overflow was in use but you have pay £5 for that.
That cable car ride was amazing! Not the crowdedness but the scenery!
It was great, we had a group of americans in the ride with us and they were quite funny. One refused get out at the top as she was too scared.
@ I don’t blame her 🤣
“Mam Tor” is my favorite thing that you say with your accent but “authorities” might be second place. 🤣 Super cool place, that drone definitely was a good addition.
You should hear me in general conversation with other locals haha. Neo is an ace piece of kit, i would recommend you using it to track your bike rides but it doesnt have collision avoidance and will end up in a tree.
That's really cool....definitely would be a great spot to hide out from the authorities.
@@SuburbanAdventures not that upstanding citizens like us need to hideout haha
But it's not even hard to find
No its not if you know where it is, like everything
The first climb to the left of the path is Swines Back and the rock formation is Edale Rocks.
I feel like 90% of your hikes take place when it is raining, or it has just rained and your tracking over wet, muddy and slippery trails.🤣😂
@@SuburbanAdventures thats pretty accurate, great british weather for you I guess
