I’ve literally outlined all of those things and taken all of that into account. Sorry to hear about your bad experience with a renter. It happens. Sounds like your car might’ve already been on the brink of having mechanical issues, which was probably worth selling and not listing on Turo. Regardless, never fun! For me, that’s why I went the EV route for the most part - no maintenance besides tires - which I factor in - and if anything happens (which it has in the past), Turo did cover it.

@@mihalykomjati there's a tesla running on the same battery with 1.2million miles. The odds of repplacing a battery before 120K miles is almost unheard of, and if it happens, it's still under warranty.

I've actually seen him talk about how much he doesn't agree that people should work as much as he does and that he's very unhappy doing so. He isn't putting computers in OUR brains, as of right now it's give people who are disabled the ability to do normal tasks once again. And the fact that he's pushing for green energy, making his car battery tech public domain and creating reusable rockets that might one day make us multiplanetary is all PRO human. But who really knows.

I have, there are some good lessons in there. It’s also written by “an earthly author”. Many of which have been watered down to fit a narrative by the leaders of the religion. There is still plenty to learn from other books on subjects that are not even mentioned in the Bible. Real world issues. The Bible and Quran also have plenty of flaws. Be careful who you give your loyalty to, sometimes the shepherd is actually a wolf.

No, what it allowed for was the flexibility to pay less per month. Most months I paid the same as I had before. There is also no fee to refi a car (at least not with the bank I used). It also lowered my interest rate.

@@baikerboy2010 It depends on how much I pay and what the savings are. The smaller loan payment each month in theory (if I wanted to apply for more loans) would allow me to do so and would allow me to leverage more debt in order to grow the business. At this point it doesn't really mean much since I'll be moving away from Turo anyway. But it certainly can save you money if rates come down and you're able to refi at a MUCH smaller rate

Why would it ever be that high? You should factor PMI into your equation

@@happytoberu market dictates rental rates. Let’s say your mortgage with PMI is $3,000 but rent average in the area for your house based on sq/ft is $2,500. How are you going to find a tenant that’s willing to pay $500 more just to break even. What about if your house is vacant for 1 month or even 10 months because it’s over priced? Water pipe bursts, they burn a hole in the wall, paint a room a random color, etc. Can you afford that? You have to have deep pockets to get into the rental market game. Getting a loan with nothing down and hoping someone else can cover your mortgage is a recipe for bankruptcy. I own 4 houses and they only started becoming profitable once the rental rates increased due to inflation increasing beyond purchase price. The first 5 years was zero profit for each house and I was technically losing around $100-300 each month.

@battleclover9537 have you heard of short term rentals or long term rentals+ short term in one property? Also, PMI in our area is no more than 200 a month, and rents outpace the price of mortgages (as long as you get a good rate). So yeah, it just depends on area, rate, the rental prices and how you plan to rent it out. It’s all possible somewhere, somehow. People in a lot of cases will look for the negatives and I get it, in this market, it’s a lot harder to find something worthwhile but it’s still possible

Correct, the renters only qualify for 75% of the income. Meaning that if they are paying 100% of the mortgage and everything else with the amount they pay in rent, the bank will only count 75% of that. So you’d still need to make an income and make enough to cover the other 25%+. It’s less risky if you qualify for a property in full on your own and the renters are just extra income. That would make it much less risk and much higher reward

If Turo didn’t do anything, I likely would have. The thing is, there was already a police report filed by him and the other person in the accident. So mine wouldn’t have been necessary unless something came back to me

@andronickmartusheff it certainly can be in some cases but it’s been proven to be pretty fruitful for many risk takers. And the risk is pretty minimal with insurance and if you have sizable savings/investments laying around

because most millionaires and all billionaires have built their wealth outside of index funds. Generational wealth is built in their own business or investing in someone else’s, typically where there is quite a bit of risk involved. Risk isn’t bad if it’s calculated. Even Warren Buffett takes calculated risk. Remember, risk is going outside on a run. Risk is going on a date. It’s not bad, it’s necessary. Because risk allows for true growth. Not just financial but personal growth too. All of the growth happens outside your comfort zone. I’m not saying to over-leverage, I’m saying taking calculated risk. And with risk, you either earn something or learn something. 😊🤘
