Seven out of ten is fine with me. Maybe what i'd give it. Would a "Hilander" immortal die if beheaded in a car accident, or by a skilled swordsman of non immortal descent? I think not. Not sure how it would work, but I really think the point made was, only an immortal can kill an immortal, so some way some how they'd come back. How you missed that I just don't know, but it does seem to me that you younger generations need it all spelled out to you or it just ain't there. Don't feel insulted. It is not your fault that modern K12 has deliberately stupidized you. You can overcome that. Have a go at it, ok? Marvel Comics used to award people whom discovered discrepencies and explianed them out of disconuity with an empty envelope labeled "Here's your no-prize." That was from a time when people didn't overthink anything. They spotted a discrepency and used their imaginations to solve it. Not what you did, kid. Now you know that, try to do better! Cheers! Not a Yojimbo.

The immortals can die from an accident or by a mortal's hand. Is canon. Pretty sure if a mortal kills an immortal they gain the quickening and become part of the game.

@gerardcote8391 4 different MacLeods, 4 different winners of the Prize. You have one timeline, the movies where Connor is the last one ans winner, and defends that prize with anomalous threats which he deals with. TV series is Duncan as the implied winner of the Prize, Connor and et al no, and is killed off in this Timeline. Then there are two MacLeod animations, each a different MacLeod held in the future, so Connor and Duncan are not winners of the Prize hence were killed off. Only way to understand this franchise.

OK, I swear I'm not stalking you - you know how YT is. But I'm glad I'm seeing your channel in my feed now. I didn't know about the original length. Yes, GREAT edit, in hindsight. I've been a pretty hardcore HPL fan my entire adult life, and still I liked how they adapted this story, including all the humor. The cat scene was epic. I loved the banter too, especially the "get a job in a sideshow" bit. It's almost like it's a device to keep you emotionally off balance between the gorier scenes. But a solid beer and pizza flick.

The fairest thing I can say, I think is that JCs tastes and my tastes didn't quite connect on a lot of his flicks. I'm one of that tiny minority that likes him in spite of Halloween, not bc of it. I'm much more into stuff like They LIve, The Thing, The Fog, In the Mouth and a number of others. I should probably go back and revisit some of his work - I pay a lot more attention to the craft of filmmaking today, so I'm sure there's a lot I can appreciate now in the ones I didn't like the first time. I'm a new sub. I like your style - more relaxed and conversational, not so tightly scripted. (I hope that doesn't offend - it's meant as a compliment, I assure you.)

Whilst in the FOPP shop in London earlier this month I saw this on the shelves; that was the first that I knew of its existence. I think what stood out to me the most is the idea of Shing Fui-On being in a lead role after having played so many bad guys. I never realised he had ever been given such a role until now because up until that point I just thought that maybe he was another one like Fung Hak-On, whose look better suited him to playing villains.

The term Wushu is just Chinese Martial Arts. The subgenre this film falls into is called Wuxia, which is like armed chivalry and derives from historical fantasy literature. You'll notice in this genre of film, there is often a lot swordplay, the characters are usually defying gravity moreso than straightforward kung fu flicks with weightless leaps, running on water, they usually have other supernatural or straight up magical powers like energy projectiles and all sorts of weird stuff, there's usually some kind of complicated romance subplot too... You've probably seen films in this genre like Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon, Hero, The Bride With White Hair, Zu Warriors From Magic Mountain, A Touch of Zen, House Of Flying Daggers, Swordsman II, Kung Fu Cult Master, etc.

Yeah, I think Kung Fu panda "took inspiration" for the blank scroll as you do. With regards to controversial, I think it was Bruce Lee's paranoia over having a martial artist character not representing a specific school or style of fighting, something that was taken very seriously well into the 1990's and the advent of the Ultimate Fighting Championship. It wasn't until the late 90's that people openly challenged the norms and started cross-training other arts to be complete, since no one art has all the answers.

Jane Asher warrants a mention. Very well known in Britain. She was a prolific child actor of the 50s followed by a number of groovy roles in the swinging 60s, this one being a memorable example. At that time she was also famous as Paul McCartney's long term girlfriend. I did not read the actual short story until decades later, and likewise, was surprised by the amount of divergence between the two. (I likewise wondered about all those different - colored - deaths which greet Red at the end; It made me wonder how many different ways dying there must be: Yellow Death (Malaria?), Blue Death (Drowning? Freezing?) and so on, so forth...).
