Astronaut Hopeful Benjamin Gottsch
Добавлен 14 июн 2011
Lets educate the world with games, hands on learning, and edutational videos! Hi, I'm Benjamin Gottsch, a future astronaut, and a science communicator. I'm here to help you learn about space, science, engineering, and history in a fun and exciting way. My goal for this channel is to entertain, educate, and have a little fun while I do it, and maybe, inspire at least one of my viewers to get involved in STEAM.
Ad Astra 4: To the Stars
As the United States progresses in its space program, it reaches a point where it decides to attempt to send Astronauts beyond the atmosphere using a small space plane, and continues to work towards developing crewed orbital capabilities and commercial applications for space. Come watch as I continue through 1960 and push towards beating the Soviet Union into space.
Let me know what you think of the video, I always love hearing your feedback. I've had an absolute blast making this series so far, and I hope you all are enjoying it as well.

As we continue our exploration of space, bigger and bolder strides are needed if we are to stay ahead of the Soviet Union. Unfortunately, we find ourselves behind as the Soviets pull ahead with probes to the moon.

We continue our efforts to explore space. This time we attempt to finish the early satellites program, and move into commercialization of space. Meanwhile our aviation department attempts to get closer to the sustained mach 2 flight achievement. This has been a lot of fun to play and make, so I hope you guys are enjoying the videos and playthrough. So far it looks like I'm staying ahead of hist...

The year is 1957, and the United State works to beat the Soviet Union into space. In my play through of RP1 and Realism Overhaul, I play as the United States. My goal for the series is an eventual landing on the moon, and maybe stretch it out to Mars, with the side goals of beating either the historical soviet launch dates, or even beat history to the punch.

Cool intro bro. Thou Storytellering is Solid❤
May I ask where this is???
This is at the SAC museum in Ashland Nebraska.
@AstroHopefulBenjaminGottsch is the Dynetics HLS still heading to the Moon, or has it been cancelled?
@@HarryKaemerle atm, I've heard from a dynetics engineer that they are working on the unpressurized lunar rover for Artemis. I don't want to say that the lander is definitely canceled or not though.
First
I love this style, good narration, you have a relaxing voice lol
Thank you very much. I do wish I was more confident with my narration and didn't make as many stutters, this helps a lot!
Great start to the series, like your style and looking forward to enjoying following your journey through the tech tree all the way to crewed Mars
Thank you so much. I look forward to sending crew to Mars too. Hopefully before 2030.
Beautifully done!
Thank you very much!
Looks like a human bomb.
It would've been a one way trip for the pilots if they ever had to be released.
I wonder how it was to fly that thing.
Thank you I remember that playing
Super cool idea that ended with an even better solution. I’m glad the 85 has been preserved.
Interesting
Interesting , Thank you
A stellar failure.
It gives me comfort to know it exists. Cause if the airforce looked at it and funded it, if I ever fall into financial trouble, I'll just propose a stupid idea to them and they will probably fund it.
I'm not so sure. As a proof of concept it worked and illustrated vulnerabilities that were solved by alternate technology.
Scary video of this thing being operated available. Check it out.
I'm so glad i grew up 20min away from this museum. Highly recommended
what is this big plane?

How was the fighting capability vs MiG-15, 17s, 19s of the time
They never got that far in development. There were only 2 that were ever made and were only used for test flights. So, none of these ever saw combat or were tested for combat.
it was just a parasite for enemy's fighters while bombers doing missions😅
@@AstroHopefulBenjaminGottsch So, they were more "proof of concept" than actual production-minded models (if that makes sense).
@@sinamasihpur7434 I understand that, but I was wondering about the actual fighting performance. AstroHopeful answered the question. Thanks.
@TeargasHorse pretty much. The idea never got off the ground with an air launched fighter. But it did lead to a pair of F84s being modified to fly in the bomb bay of a B36 to reconnaissance. Check out the RF84.
This thing looks sick, great explanation!
Great video
Sweet! What a view!!
I seen some too
Camera man needs practice
C seventeen❤, She replaced the c one forty seven.
I remember when we got our first at Fighting falcons.
Ummmmmm, those are the "Thunder Birds". Not the "Blue Angels". Why must you steel the Top Gun music?
Vibes
"PromoSM" 🌈
Nice, love it, thank you for sharing this! :D
My pleasure!
Well done! :D
Well done! anything including Titan-alikes is the perfect video! (that stage separation of the solids was Beautiful lmao)
Thank you very much! I'm getting a lot of use out of my titan, I can see why NASA and the air force where so fond of it in reality.
wow, i'm glad you liked my script pack! maybe i should remake it some day. great video!
Great mission. I never dared building an impactor with a SRB and always waited until i could get a small AJ-10 stage with just enough delatV into Orbit with just the booster. This way you can probably acomplish it a few tech nodes earlier.
Cool design. Compared to the actual Mercury you managed to cram a proper propulsion module into your mass budget. Congratulations on first manned Orbit.
Thanks!
Hey man I’m uploading a refined, cleaned up iteration today if you want to check it out.
thanks man thanks so much and thanks for the well constructed feedback. also if you ever fly it again, AG1 activates the Electrostatic field which produces hyper maneuverability, and AG3 activates the Electromagnetic Drives allowing speeds north of mach 10 at altitude and mach 6-7 at lower altitudes. in conjunction with AG1, this allows for instant takeoff and UAP maneuvering before speed is too great.
I did not know that. That is a really cool feature. I really felt like your aircraft was like ufo hunter, and now knowing that, I'm just going to assume you designed it for that.
@@AstroHopefulBenjaminGottsch yes i did have that in mind
Hey man can you check out my aircraft? It’s called KORO systems TR1 mk2. I’m confident you’ll have fun
I'll give it a fair look. Thanks for commenting!
Hi Brandin. I checked out your aircraft. Check out the video I made here. ruclips.net/video/TvV38acw20k/видео.html
2 new subs just for u
nice
nice
Great video!
Great job!
Very nice!
Thank you for sharing your video with us. We enjoyed watching it!
Why is it 50 views, but only 1 like?I placed the second)
Nicely done! (:
Let me know what you think of this new style of video? I'm experimenting with a few new styles, and if you want to watch my livestreams of crewed missions, come check out my discord! discord.gg/yhes3R66
I like this form of presentation style but it's up to you really
Really interesting! New series sounds like it’s going to be very challenging! Just wanted to say there was a bit where you were coming down at Duna for the first time where the music drowned out your voice, couldn’t really hear what you were saying :( but asides from that great video!
Super awesome! This is a very logical awnser, but if you want the technical awnser to ruin it (ill hide it) All planets start flat. They paint on geometry with unity, almost sculpting. They just didnt sculpt on the flat parts haha. But i love the vid!
nice
Let me know what you think had formed the duna canyons.
Most likely ancient river canyons. It is quite likely that Duna is identical to Mars's forming, and thus quite likely to used to have liquid, flowing water.
Nice! These are good videos *I wonder what secrets the rest of the Kerbol system might hold?*
