Daddy had a stroke at his work on February 26th, 2013. He was supposed to give a big presentation. When his friends realized that he wasn't coming into the meeting room, they just assumed that he was just nervous before the big presentation. So they waited for a couple of minutes. When those minutes turned into an hour, they started to get worried. They went to Daddy's office and found him slumped over in his chair. Daddy's boss called 911. The cops, firefighters, and paramedics, took him to the nearest hospital. His stroke left the entire family devastated. My little brother Isaiah was upset and disappointed. The next day was his 7th birthday, which he wanted to celebrate with Daddy. On Isaiah's 7th birthday, I went to school. People, both teachers and students, said, "Hannah, I heard about what happened to your dad yesterday. I'm so sorry." When I came home from school, I found Isaiah crying in his room. He said that Daddy's stroke was the worst birthday present he had ever gotten. Just then, neighborhood people brought us treats. My neighbors' daughter bought us sugar cookies with adorable pink bunnies on them. They were also very delicious. My youngest brother Jeremiah was only 4 years old and not even in school yet when Daddy had the stroke. How old me and my little brothers were on the day of Daddy's stroke: A. Me: 16. (Autistic.) B. Joseph: 13. C. Seth: 11. (Autistic.) D. Zachariah: 10. E. Jedidiah: 8. F. Isaiah: Almost 7. G. Jeremiah: 4. How old we are all now: A. Me: 28. (Autistic.) B. Joseph: 25. C. Seth: 23. (Autistic.) D. Zachariah: 22. E. Jedidiah: 20. F. Isaiah: 18. G. Jeremiah: 15. Daddy now lives in the local nursing home, where he's in good hands. I went to visit him today. He was so happy to see me, just like always. When Daddy was a little boy, all he wanted to eat was meat, cookies, chocolates, candies, cakes, cupcakes, iced tea, orange soda, ice-cream, milkshakes, doughnuts, onions, and lima beans. His parents always fed him that food. Growing up, Daddy maintained his unhealthy diet. When he was only 37 years old, he had a heart attack. Growing up, the boys and I had to witness Daddy often going to the hospital. When I was 5 years old, Daddy had to get his chest and arm cut open. He also got his appendix taken out. Jeremiah had to grow up with a bedridden and disabled father who only said a few words. Whenever the entire family goes to visit Daddy, Mommy says to my little brother Zach, "Zach, if you don't eat healthy and exercise, you'll end up like your dad! Is this what you wanna end up like? If you don't wanna end up like this, eat healthy and exercise! Join a gym!"
