This is part of my Frat House deck, and Kyler is hardly the problem. Doubling Season is the problem, but Doubling Season is ALWAYS the problem.

It's all counters. So a lifelink, trample, or indestructible counter also buff. And doubling season is a replacement effect. Not trigger. But that's not important

Impressive to be sure but... equally impressive is the fact that it got this far without anyone else at the table having so much as a bounce spell to deal with Kyler.

Adaline is strong But the problem here is doubling season. Being able to make use of both halves means it’s quadrupling season

While the interaction that you described is correct. The tokens do not get counters to buff then as a result of Kyler, just an anthem effect. Otherwise, it would be way worse.

What a waste of time Doubling Season is busted not Kyler

Doubling season, though. You're not even creative with it. Sure, doubling season can be in the deck. But there are so many lines with other cards to do the same effect in addition to doubling season. Doubling season is overused and very obvious.

I have this combo in my Kyler deck. The commander is a pillar commander so you need a few protections in there to keep him around, Mythril coat, Dawn's Truce, unbreakable formation, heroic intervention, even a fanatical devotion which will allow you sac your token to keep Kyler around. Ascend to Avernus for mass recursion when someone inevitably board wipes you to return your board state.

This is why I love Humies in MtG; all of my friends picked Dragons or Demons or Eldrazi because they're not a weak tribe. Humans aren't weak, we just gotta group up real fast then hit you 'til you die.

Like I hear you buy also like if you remove it then you lose all the buffs on the wimpy hu-mans It's similar to my janky a$$ jodah deck. Like yeah its scary but you kill jodah all the buffs go away. Like the only way that deck wins is big Unga bunga beat down due to jodah buff. You realize that the forgive me sensei I must go all out can be effective neutered entirely by timely interaction. For example kill jodah/kyler in response to damage pretty much every creature dies

I built a Kyler deck for my girlfriend, thinking it's just another Selesnya deck... I was so wrong. It's one of the strongest decks in the pod every time. One player had to nuke all the lands just to slow her down for like 3 turns.

My friend did this with his Kyler deck without using doubling season. I forget how but he made like a dozen tokens, then used horn of Gondor to make X 1/1s equal to the number of humans he controlled. After that Kyler had like 50 +1/+1 counters along with an Odric out so they had all the keywords. Now I know what you’re asking, “why did you let his board get like that??” Well my turn before I did try to board wipe but someone else at the table countered it 🙃

What qualifies as casual? 😂 nothing about doubling season is casual or medium strength

Sorry, but as a former Kyler player I must disagree. Kyler has quite the ceiling, it's true, when I did win with him it always a blast, but he is extremely fragile, he costs too much mana for a card that's very small and does technically nothing when it enters. Basically the deck does nothing until Kyler enters, and does nothing the turn he enters unless you have mana for followup or a way to create tokens already on the field. In this particular example, Doubling Season and Adeline are tye broken cards, not Kyler.

Just counterspell it. People complain about blue, but blue is there for this kind of situation.
