Greetings!
My name is Patrick, and at the time of writing this, I am a 58 year old Autistic guy with ADHD, living in Dorset, England, with my better half, Karen and our cat, Katie.
I will be posting videos about Autism, and my perceptions of life, as well as videos of the surrounding area, and when we travel, I will be taking you along for the journey to hopefully capture some videos of where we go and what we get up to. I hope you enjoy them.
I will try to put up a video regularly, at least twice a month, so please be patient with me. The weather isn't always kind, so we might not get out and about as much as we would like, but if I can make a video or a short for you, then I will do my very best. And expect a bumper crop if and when we bring out our passports and set off on our travels.
So sit back, chill, and enjoy the content on offer. I am new to this so am open to any (polite) suggestions.
Thanks for reading, and catch you all soon.

Maiden Drone Flight- At long last! Taking my new drone for a spin.
This is the inaugural flight of my DJI Mini 3 drone.
The weather the day before was nigh on perfect, but drone and controller refused to talk to one another and I couldn't get her airborne.
Today, a darker, damper, colder day, she decided to play ball.
The footage is a bit jerky and back and forth, but I'm not used to the controls or the sensitivity of them, so my apologies. I hope it gives you an idea of how much fun drone flying can be, and the other angles and possibilities I now have, to capture footage in the future.
I hope you enjoy it.
Thanks for watching!

Hi, this popped up on my feed so thought I would watch. I bought a DJI 3 mini before Xmas and only used a couple of times myself, can I ask the problems you had was it to do with maybe gps satellite problems?. It's always best to wait and see if you pick up at least 13 or more signals. I normally wait till at least 15 . It's so nervous flying ATM as am just so scared it just drops out the sky but the footage is great and yes the smoothness will come.
@@stevenlackenby5991 I’m not sure. I just couldn’t connect drone with controller and the next day it paired within seconds. The first day was beautifully sunny and dry and the footage would have even better, but these things happen. I was trying for over an hour, switching things on and off, but clearly I was missing something. Not, unsurprising given I’m the enemy of anything technical, lol. Thanks for your kind comment. Appreciate it.
Does the Met orifice know the story of the boy who cried WOLF?
Ha Ha! We so rarely get any 'proper' snow
Hello there! Thanks for watching the video. My apologies to the people who don't enjoy it, but without people leaving comments, I don't know why? So any (non-abusive) constructive criticism is always appreciated, and it can only help me improve. Cheers.
Thanks for the video - we are due there next month and I'm a really light sleeper so would like to try and pre-book a quiet room. People are saying to get one that overlooks the reception area but I would like some sort of view! Any thoughts?
@@tori2286 If you want a view of the pool and the minaret of the mosque, then that’s at the back of the hotel and you will get noise from the entertainment which ends at about 11.00 each night. Our room was on the top floor on the other side, the city side, and we had a great view out across the city from our vantage point, and had very little noise from the entertainment. So, if you prefer a bit more peace it’s the ones that are on the reception side, but if you want a view of the pool and grounds, it’s the other side. Hope that helps.
❤❤🎉
Excellent video! We booked to stay here for a week next summer and this answered a lot of my questions, thank you
Thank you. Great hotel, ideally situated for the city as everything is within walking distance. Looking forward to a return at some point...if we can stomach the airport again.
@ sounds great! Is the airport really that bad these days? I have been to Marrakesh before and didn’t experience any issues in the airport, hopefully it’s the same this time
@@FJames We arrived at 7.20 in the evening, reached the hotel at 12.30. Took us 4 hours just to get through customs. So many flights arrived at once they were swamped. No water, couldn't get to a toilet- worst airport experience ever. But leaving? 30 minutes. I think it's a bit of a case of 'luck of the draw', but it was disappointing that with so many people crammed into the customs part, they didn't put more staff on or work quicker. Spoiled the first full day of our holiday because we were shattered. Hope everyone has a better experience than us.
@ oh wow, definitely different to when I went last! Thanks for the heads up
@@FJames Well, I hope you have a smoother transfer. Think it was just bad luck on our part, but even so... not something to be quickly repeated.
😊jmm
Grateful for all the likes on this video, and the many dislikes as well. Sorry you didn't enjoy it, but I don't know why unless people tell me? Something I said, something I did? I am still new to all this videoing lark so any kind advice or thoughts are very welcome. Of course, abuse isn't, but any help is always appreciated, and I can't improve if I don't know what I am doing wrong at the outset. Cheers all.

What is that supposed to mean?
That’s London init?
These days, it could be anywhere. No matter where I travel, I am reminded of home.
where is this?
Maraketch somwhere
The TUI Blue Medina Gardens, Marrakech. I got up far too early and was shooting some video in and around the hotel. I think the receptionist was as surprised as me to find anyone awake at that hour.
Insane amount of people, we had the same experience in Istanbul ( very off putting but it seems to be the norm these days). The palace is glorious btw
Yes, sadly you rarely get places to yourself, or are able to find quiet spots in which to capture the moment. It is very off-putting and does make it harder to capture the essence of a place. Thank you for your comment, much appreciated.
Big ass pool no water
@@vtalano ? It’s a ceiling…?
@ yo the video says different perspective
@ Aha, very good…lol.
We are in Cyprus lovely and warm
@@brendanmccaighey5132 Marrakesh was lovely and warm, but where I am right now it’s dark, pouring with rain and very windy. How I miss the sun…lol.
🇲🇦🇲🇦🇲🇦👍🏻👍🏻
Beautiful Marrakech
it certainly is. Love Marrakech.
To those who said they disliked this video, fair enough. I can't please everyone and if it's my voice that's annoying, then yes, I agree with you, lol. But I hope you will all agree that the Majorelle is a beautiful garden. See you all somewhere down the road.
I always say you have to come home, back to reality so you can experience going away again
Absolutely. We need that touch of home so we can enjoy our escapes from reality that little bit more.
By the way mosques in general are open to anyone, this mosque however is closed to non muslims not for religious reasons but for the fact that it is a great historical site and the inflow of tourists would make praying hard for the believers.
@@ameurzaheg5647 No active mosques allow non-Muslims to enter. That’s my understanding and what I was told by those Moroccans I spoke with. And with respect, tour groups could easily visit between prayer times, so I’m not sure the reason you give would be the reason it’s closed. I’ve visited Mosques all over the world, and I’ve always just left at prayer time.
@@PiecesOfPatrick If you go to a random mosque in the street anybody can enter without any problems however great historical sites like the Al Qarawiyin mosque in Fez and the Zitouna mosque in Tunisia that are still actively used as mosques do not allow tourists in because it would impede on the believers ability to pray, also as you may know before entering mosques, muslims do their ablutions and clean themselves, and as we pray on carpets, it is customary to clean your feet very thoroughly to not leave any odors since people are going to put their heads on the carpet (aside of the carpets being cleaned frequently of course). But even as a tourist if you individually ask to enter the Koutoubia Mosque or the Al Qarawiyin or any other restricted mosque in the world to ask questions about islam to the imam you will be allowed to enter with no issues after cleaning your feet ;). By the way some mosques like the Zitouna mosque in Tunis go another route, non-Muslims are not allowed to enter during prayer times but are allowed to enter 30 minutes after the end of prayer.
@@PiecesOfPatrickFirstly idk why you deleted my response to you from an hour ago? Secondly as you just said you've visited mosques all over the world and that's what I'm saying, non-muslims can enter most mosques in the world, but of the ones that have restricted access, you cannot go in for tourism purposes, but you can go in for religious reasons, for instance if a non muslim is interested in islam and wants to ask the imam some questions, he can enter any mosque in the world whether it is the Koutoubia Mosque or anywhere else!
@ I haven’t removed any responses on here. I wasn’t even aware that I could.
@@PiecesOfPatrick Oh alright I apologize it seems there was a lag.
As always, an interesting video. 🙏❤ Greeting from IRAN 🇮🇷
@@prowalktour_2 Thank you. I’ve been to Iran. Magnificent country.
Quality seems pretty good, although I think I need my eyes testing. Liking the infectious laughter.
@@JulianWattam Thank you
Great views and nice video. Thank you 😊
@@TravellingTorunn Thank you!
Nice video Patrick. Thank you for sharing 😊
Thank you very much for that. I appreciate it.
Apologies for the sound quality of the video. It went from soft to loud to soft, and even when editing I just couldn't get the balance quite right.
Does fibro advance and impact stamina? I found this with my condition and these days I use my step counter as a guide so that I hopefully stop before going too far and causing an episode. And yes, it's probably partly an age thing. I remember a couple of years back riding a bicycle like I used to as a teen - lesson learned!
@@JulianWattam I believe mine is impacting more negatively as I grow older. My stamina is well down on last year and my step counter proves that. I don’t think the long cold, wet winter and the lack of a proper transition into Spring and then from Spring to Summer has helped because I just feel tired all the time, as though I’m playing catch up.
Beautiful scenery and excellent audio. DJI Osmo Pocket 3 is an amazing little piece of technology 😊
@@mrtekku Thank you. Yes it is.
I was right. It poured with rain the next day and the next day and…
Video quality seems excellent and nice and steady, and the internal mic sounds fine - you got wind noise only a few times. Would be interesting to hear you switch between internal and external mic for difference in general quality. They don't show the external mic on Amazon but I guess it's a clip-on so quite discreet. Even with a small mic like that I've seen people use one of those fluffy muffs to eliminate wind noise completely.
The external mic comes with a magnet so you can wear the mic inside a shirt and the magnet on the outside. That means it’s hidden from view. I also have a fluffy muff… lol. I did shoot an earlier video using the external mic, and bar three occasions when the wind was really roaring, you wouldn’t know there was any. I’ll try and do another video with the external mic so the quality can be compared.
I'd guess a lot of NDs have had the unpleasant experience of being told by NTs that they're not 'normal', so what you describe is bizarre as it boils down to one ND telling another ND that they're not a 'normal' ND! I'm surprised that those with qualifications around autism can forget what the 'S' in ASC means. To invalidate your autistic experience because it doesn't match their exacting vision seems disgusting to me.
I agree, but like any community, you will have a range of opinions and sadly, some voices are much louder than others when it comes to expressing those opinions. Dominant voices attract followers and those followers help to spread the word that the 'spectrum' is defined by the self-appointed leaders and guardians, and that their definition is the only acceptable one. I will do a video at some point about the great betrayal that I had on X/Twitter, about my diagnosis, which hinged on the point of definition and identity. It was scary stuff.
I had some hope that a diagnosis (just started my 3-year wait) would result in some help, but I'll stow that now! Perhaps the only value is the confirmation that you're different - at the moment I worry that I'm just a bad person.🙄
Yes, help is a highly unlikely outcome. Most services are designed for children and to support parents of those children. As an adult, it’s very much a case of ‘You’ve made it this far without help, so you’ll be fine’ and they show you the door with the label firmly attached to your forehead. I’m certain you aren’t a bad person, but it’s hard to find a real sense of who we are when we’re swimming against the tide.
I'm also on a waiting list. I've gone through the Right to Choose and chosen Clinical Partners. If you can, try transfer to their waiting list. It's 7 months in comparison to 3 years. I am just hoping for me, it explains some stuff. Doubt I'll ever know who I am and I'm used to lack of support from healthcare. It's horrendous. I hope that you're okay!
@@AmysAnarchy thanks, will read up on that.
