    Such a great video, I love the intro with all the "bloopers" great to see inside the kitchen from Walrus Audio. To be honest it feels more like a assembly factory, putting the knobs in the causes ect doing the quaility check, and branding , The cool part comes from China? I just got the Meraki and I would love to see how that unit is created.

    Show us the rooms, bro! The console, instruments, amps, mics the out-board gear and explain it. We didn't come here to listen to your chit-chattin'. Do not get this as a hateful comment, I subscribbed and liked the video, but if you wanna make studio toureb better and worth watching that is what matters. Put more substance into it, more cut through the chase, show equipment more. I hope you get my advice, wish ye all the best in future :) Good luck and focus on gear explanation without too much empty talks.

      Watch the follow ups, it’s all there 🤘 I did 3 more in depth walkthroughs. Also, these are not empty talks, these are meaningful conversations with the person that built this studio from the ground up. Gear is one part of the equation, the people that make these spaces are the real treasure. Enjoy the follow ups where we go deep into the instruments, mics and other gear.

    I totally disagree about treating your room first. I know that’s the current consensus but I say get your monitors first… then treat the room. Why?? Because getting your monitors first allows you to get precise measurements of how the monitors react to the room. Using free software like room eq wizard can help pin point problems areas. Then you can add acoustic treatment precisely to the problematic areas… as needed. Versus adding acoustic panels and bass absorbers and not fully knowing how the monitors will react to the room afterwards. It’s more cost effective as well. Acoustic treatment can get expensive. I recently bought a pair of genelec 8361a monitors for my room which essentially isn’t treated. After positioning the monitors where I got the best tonal balance by ear… then I ran the measurement software. The software revealed there was a dip at 130 hz only on the left speaker which sits in front of a window pane. The fix was to cover the window with a piece of MDF board. Now everything is evenly flat across the frequency on both monitors. I didn’t have to add any bass traps, or diffusers. The only thing I have in my studio before I got the genelecs is a thick curtain on the back wall. Needless to say it Saved me from spending unnecessary money on acoustic treatment I didn’t need. So in conclusion… 1. Get your monitors first. 2. Position them by ear for the best tonal balance. Especially the low-end. 3. Run measurement software to point out problem areas in the room. 4. Apply acoustic treatment as needed. 5. Thank me later You may found out that you didn’t need those $500 bass traps after all.

    These mothers are stripped-down to the bare bottom. No DSP. No adjusting of anything. Only a trim knob. Only one type of signal input. You cannot strip down a monitor more than this PMC result6 sucker. And for how much money? THREE THOUSAND DOLLARS a pair? Whaaaat?

    A fricking 2-way monitor -- is just a fricking 2-way monitor, Dude. Should have gotten a 3-way instead, Mate. This one (PMC) with its piano black high-gloss finish is just as cheesy to look at -- as the much cheaper JBL Pro LSR Mark II series monitors are. Ah well, to each his/her/its/they own, I suppose. And then let's not forget the astro-price of these high-gloss PCM 2-ways. Wow, so THREE THOUSAND DOLLARS for a pair? Whaaaaat? www.sweetwater.com/store/detail/Result6--pmc-result6-6.5-inch-active-studio-monitors-pair Where are these being made at? On Planet Pluto?

    • @aaronnewberry
      @aaronnewberry Год назад

      To be fair, no one in the states is building their own. It's far cheaper to have these populated, soldered and shipped from China and the turnaround times are even faster; it's quite literally both cheaper and faster. It sucks but it's just the nature of the game currently. The silver lining is that they're all being rigorously designed and built by real people and real engineers who are highly skilled and make dope shit (mostly); these designs are just mass produced in China or Taiwan.
