Mark Mulcahy - I Have Patience- Boston
I've always thought: "Very bad poetry, Captain." was his funniest line.
That's a great one too! I have changed the title of the video : )
@@davebuffalo66 Sorry, but glad you liked the line!
Protect chuck from Haitian plz
And we love Chuck!
jesus christ it's snowing already?
Hi chuck
Hi chuck
I was there too!
Such a great show!
@@davebuffalo66 It was fantastic, great to see them again.
So was I. The show actually converted my wife from a "yeah, they're OK" fan to a serious one. I basically dragged her there (60 miles each way!), and she must have thanked me 50 times on the ride home!
I was there too. Was so great to see them live at last!
Have the full songs?
Unfortunately I just recorded these short clips…
Nice! Just what I needed. Thank you 😊
Dave what is this piece of music, it sounds very familiar
Love it
Damien O'Brien thank you!!
What is that piece of music? sounds familiar. Are you playing the other instruments as well?
@@damienobrien7016 it’s an original, but a simple chord progression since I haven’t learned my way around the instrument yet! I did play the other instruments
Sounds really great, I've played it about a dozen times, love the keyboards and arrangement. You've got something in that piece of music.
@@damienobrien7016 Thank you for the kind words. You've inspired me to start doing some recording again!
It’s not big wave! Love to see and hear big wave and sound tnx anyways
Nice job on a hard song. Everybody thinks this song is easy but it’s actually hard when you go and try it. Keep it up
Love it!
I'm just trying to see if my guitar skills will be easily transferable to this instrument, haha. Less new shapes and thinking.
Yes, easily transferable! Your brain just has to do some mirror imaging :)
So is your tuning from the low string to the high string GDAE? (Opposite of guitar)
Yes, exactly. Like (some) mandolin tunings...
Thanks so much for the replies!
Thank you for posting! It was a great show.
Maybe I am biased as his friend Phil, but I think this is "awesome" as my friend David would say, or "brilliant" as we say in the UK. Actually, as a Bayesian I am used to being considered "biased" by my frequentist colleagues, so this is definitely brilliant.
Great! I really like the reverb on the nylon string.
How did you connect the Tascam to the ipad?
I used GarageBand on my MacBook. To connec the Tascam to my MacBook, I either used the line out (RCA L/R) to the 1/8" microphone jack on the MacBook, or I may have also tried the headphones jack (1/4") on the Tascam to the MacBook microphone jack, although I think the RCA worked better. It's been a few years :)
Looking at getting a bouzouki, having already learned guitar. I just came looking for examples of the sound. You, sir, have convinced me that it is definitely an instrument worth learning!
Wow! Thank you for the kind email. I was in the same position, having played guitar and looking for something new. It was the Decemberists' song "Crane Wife 3" that sold me! Just 3 chords, but a beautiful sound.
your bouzouki sounds lush! what strings have you got on it? and did you get it to sound so mellow?
Thank you for the note! The strings are D'Addario Irish Bouzouki (J81) phosphor bronze wound strings - .011, .016, .028, .040.
Thanks! I actually outputted to 4 separate aiff files, emailed them from my iphone to my macbook, saved them, and then brought them into garage band to mix. From garage band, I exported to a single file.
Hey, great song! How did you get MTSR to output your files as a single mps/wav/aiff? I can't seem to figure it out.
How to merge the tracks into one single track: 1. Think of it as a 3-track recorder. 2. Record whatever you want to record, but only use three of the tracks. 3. Once you have finished recording, enable sound on all of the tracks you've used. 4. Turn up the volume on your iPhone and don't use head phones. 5. Press record on the fourth, unused track, sit still and don't make a sound :) 6. Once your song has finished playing, stop the recording. 7. Import using iTunes and enjoy the 3-in-1 track!
Just about got it now I think. I can add a little speed if I put the pick down.. Let me know if you stumble across any others.. :-) (likewise I'm working on a couple too, so maybe you can do them some justice!)
HOW MANY TRACKS CAN YOU SIMULTANEOUSLY RECORD IN GARAGEBAND WITH THIS INTERFACE? I AM TRYING TO USE A US-1800 INTO GARAGEBAND WILL I GET 8 TRACKS LIVE INTO IT OR DO I NEED TO UPGRADE TO LOGIC? PROTOOLS?
did you use the EQ functions?? after mixing and bouncing....how do you make the master?? cheers!
Thank you! I didn't expect anybody to try to play this...just a little riff I've been working on. As for the speed, it must be all those years of drumming! Thanks again - DP
Thank you :)
Thank you! That might have been the condenser microphone I used for the drum...it is SUPER sensitive. Should have replied earlier...just saw your post...a year later!!! -DP
Thanks for the feedback! For the drums, I've tried different things. In this case, I used a condenser microphone. I definitely recommend this Tascam...lots of fun to play with. I had two tracks for the guitars (rhythm, lead - both acoustic). Two tracks for the piano (one of them is playing that cello-like sound). And one for the drums (should have used more to get a better mix on the drums!). -DP
love it....how did you recorded the drums??...using the internal mics or external ones?? do you recommend this portastudio??....i was between this one and the Boss BR-800 How many tracks you used for recording this? thanks!
slowly stepping through this on my bouzouki.. love it (although toooo fast for me to keep up!)
David is making the wind go crazy!
Seriously? Don't do keyboard songs unless you find a keyboard man/woman.
fun fact: that's the waterfall used in the intro to the show Twin Peaks
Rock on, sounds great, I saw Head East in a bar on Pensacola Beach in the early 80$, the place wasn't much bigger than that living room, there was no stage and eve was standing about two feet from the singer, I was face to face with him. And I was laughing and he was trying to keep from it. But it was a funny and awkward situation. Lol just thought I'd share that!
I started out using both an external condenser mic (channel A) and the internal mic (channel B) simultaneously for a given instrument, and found that the internal microphone seem to do a better job (except for the drums).
davebuffalo66 what is the tuning? Sounds like the chords you're playing are G C and D.
Ian Castle - yep that's right! Thanks for the comment.
Very nice. There was some noise in the beginning and I don't know what that was from. Once it got going, it was great!
with all do respect......... no.
did you name your band after Waiting for Godot but changed it to Jay because friggin Jay is alway slate?? I had a band in college called Waiting for Nate based on these principles :) kick ass living room rock BTW.. i'm a practitioner myself hahaha! LOVE the GTR doing the kybrd bart.. killer!
sounds great! i'm thinking of getting the US-144 mkII... hope it all works out for me! Good job though!
Nice dude! i like it! ^_^
Oh, brother......
Nice version of song. I am just learning this now. Same problem with song as most of my others, my strum hand not up to speed yet.
That was horrendous. I know exactly where the album cover was shot. Man, that was really bad. Sorry.
too fast
all wrong.
Friend, welcome to RUclips. May I suggest that you invest in a small tabletop tripod for your videocam. Or at least clear the distracting clutter from the field of view. Nice playing, thanks for posting.
