Workshop CNC Setup Video
Taking a look at my new setup of my 3018's and 4030, what computer I use to run them, and how I can run all 3 at the same time. For those interested, the computers are called BeeLinks and Im using the T3, but you can get i3's,i5's and other good spec micro pcs. They are low powered and fit in the back of the monitors nicely.

No info on moving code to machine. Useless
Awesome tutorial thanks so much for posting. I learned a lot that will be very useful when my machine arrives. God bless!
Hi Rob your videos are very informative thanks for a good job. Have you tried the 4030V2 ? and have you tried using lasers? Thanks
Took me an hour and half too.
Not what I need. What co processor do I need to opperate my VEVOR 3018 from VCarve 2d cut desktop
G-code probably. all in the list inches and mm...
Check out this linear rail kit: ruclips.net/video/5312HYIQHAM/видео.html
Hello Rob. I am thinking about buying this machine and i was wondering if you know or if you tried, what is the thickest piece of wood you can cut with a straight router bit. I hope you can give me some light about the matter. Thank you! (Ps. I want to cut wood about 50 to 60 millimeters, and what kind of bit should I use!) :) Hope to hear your opinion!

What a bag of crap This machine is
Great job I just learned four or five things I didn’t know!!!
Great tutorial, keep doing them
Thanks for a nice clear tutorial. Have you made more tutorials for Carveco Maker ?
Its great to learn and upgrade things. It's just fun to play around without destroying expensive stuff. Mine is now working pretty decent. Combined with a 3D printer (i use resin printers) its a good team.
I am looking at setting up a CNC machine for woodworking projects. DO you rate the 4030 CNC machine and do the micro pcs work quick enough for the 4030
I cant seem to get gcod to work I save file transfer to cnc and zero my machine press sent to start carve my z goes up and thats it
Где покупали станок ?
I am just learning CNC and have learned a huge amount from this video. Cant thank you enough all the best.
other than the size, what is the difference between this 4030 and the 3018 PROve
Great video. An easy way to increase speed, create an offset 2-3mm around the letters & use 1mm to cut fine detail around the letters. 2nd toolpath with larger bit for mass clearance outwards to the frame edge
can carbide programs be use on any cnc machine?
There is nothing blocking the limits it doesnt finish homing and then says checkliimits Could it be manufacturing ?
first thing i thought of when it arrived was that i needed to upgrade it massively, however, near all the parts can be machined on it to do the upgrades. started designing the parts for 1/4"/6.35mm plate aluminum. i use freecad and bcnc, no driver installation needed, with those it just works and bangs stuff out slowly. first i did was get better d bits, pcb drills and single flute endmills.
Are the V-wheels adjustable (e.g: via eccentric shafts) to account for wear over time?
I like your demonstration how the clamps are supposed to work. So many people get this totally wrong!
How send gcode to machine? Como mando las instrucciones a la maquina ?
Christmas in your house.
This is so cool. Love the video dudes.
I just wished you don't move everything so quick so we can keep up with what you're doing and saying
Well done, thank you.
You should try Fusion 360 or Blender (both free design software that's relatively easy to learn)
need some dry lube on the screws
gently gently.
nice little machine have some fun, thanks.
It's good one. Can you share link where from you buy from China. I want to buy it also from China.
This machine looks awesome
Hello het not usch easle of carbyt cnc👍👍
I havent been using Carbide Create or Easel much, I like Carveco Maker, as it has things like ramping in, and the toolpaths are 33% faster to cut on V-Bit Carving
Good instruction, was hoping to see it being machined on your new CNC 😏🛠️🔨
Watching your build. Quick safety correction. The collet snaps into the collet nut with a spring. Don't assemble them to the spindle separately, the collet might not lock on the upper & lower finger segments to the cutter bit! Better news, the spindle motor was super quiet on your test at 10:30 , I've only seen 1 other 4030 on RUclips, that was quiet with R2D2 sounding steppers
I did think that after I did it. I added that section in, as lots of people had been messaging me asking which way up the collet went and what collets are. I'd missed that in previous videos
Just finished watching your build, those stepper motors look bigger, stronger than the NEMA 17s on the Sweety, are they NEMA 23? If so, you shouldn't lose steps with the deck sticking at the back extent! And a good reason to have limit switches functioning correctly, wouldn't want them crashing!
Hi Rob, genuine SainSmart looks good, easily distinguished from the black if silver clones. Looking forward to seeing your side by side test. Have you got limit switches & z probe on the new one? Were supposed to be on my black clone ... But missing :-/ didn't want to send it back though
The origianl and the 4030 have limit switches, they were a pain to fit on the ProVer, but prefitted on the 4030. Im pretty happy running without them in 90% of the jobs I do.
Ah ha, Santa had you on his Nice list this year. Are you finding a quality difference between the genuine Genmitsu and the previous clone? The spindle/cutter length doesn't took so lanky, that would have caused vibration & flexing of your cutter ..
Yes the real Genmitsu has certainly sorted out all of the issues, it is quieter, more rigid, and I can run it faster. Loving it in comparison.
You've been improving your mediclorians while I've been away. Greatly improved. How is that machine rating? Excess cutting & screeching noises gone? I see you've invested in 2 new machines, I look forward to seeing the videos on those.
Thanks John, Ive been working on that machine, but then decided I liked it o much to get the Sainsmart 3018 Prover and then I loved that so went for the 4030 from Sainsmart. Ive also been playing with different tools and materials. Loving those machines.
Mine is just a 3018 Pro clone, but it's been good. Only 1 pack of 1mm endmill cutters broken with too fast cutting speeds & depths. I tried a Genmitsu 20k spindle, but the end plate started lifting, I was only practicing speed control for 2 mins, hadn't even produced wood chips yet. So that went back. Otherwise happy with it. I'm still using Easel not moved on to the bigger tools yet. You reminded me of the man at CarveCo and his tutorials. May revisit his product again.
this video went down the shitter when you hauled ass through the software parts of the setup. Im WTF as I was when I got here.
Sorry it didn;t meet your needs. I have other videos with loads of software usage in
For a Getting Started video you leave out many steps new/intro users are looking for. Like use of mouse for zoom and move, You skip over explaining the different tool paths. Just several missing steps. There is a need for how to with the newer software but I'd say redo it possibly into to videos with a bit more detail. Add a beginning menu for those that want to skip to a feature can go right to it. Also add the difference form previous versions to this as there are changes worth mentioning. GL :)
Not all RUclips videos are targeted to absolute beginners. Some assume a level of knowledge that they would understand how his project is progressing. I would say it's not so much an educational video, more an experience video of his project builds & results to incentivise others (like me) to try new skills & expand repertoire.
Thanks for the feedback, ill take this into note when doing more CC videos.
Really enjoying this series!
Wow, lit of work went into that, would be great to see the CNC in action and final product
Your Y axis stepper motor stuck momentarily, you might have heard a slight grind or clicks. I had it on mine too when doing some deep Y axis cuts, I think it was a lubrication problem, been ok part 2 weeks. Don't give up, I hope you persevere & learn this CNC
Hint on sign carving, you don't have to go deep on the clearance cuts, a few 1 or 2 mm is sufficient to give depth perception. You're a few months ahead of me, good luck with your learning process
