Overly dramatic narration. Bad editing. Stupid cutaways. Vehicles you have probably never watched a 10 minute video about.
A Champion Built By Love: The Subaru 22B Story
In the modern automotive landscape, there is no shortage of uninspiring cars. Corporations design and manufacture millions of them to meet quotas, both financial and regulatory in nature.
Subaru has no trouble meeting this criteria. Their employment of advertising to appeal to the masses and embracement of the crossover lands them in the doghouse of most enthusiasts. With their sole redeeming qualities of the BRZ and WRX fading fast, it seems the brand could fall into the profit-hungry corporate landscape forever.

Why The World Needs "Bad" Cars
Просмотров 821Год назад
It’s no secret that in the 1980s Sports Utility Vehicles (SUVs) gained tremendous popularity. As the malaise era ended, people wanted the ability to venture off-road and it became clear that 4x4 Off-road vehicles, such as Blazers and Broncos, were typewriters in a computer lab. Fueled by overwhelming demand and R&D teams hard at work, a descendant of an off-roading titan was born: The Land Rove...
The Birth of the Fast Family Hauler: The Jeep 5.9
Просмотров 20 тыс.Год назад
After quickly becoming one of America's best-selling SUVs, the original Jeep Grand Cherokee competed with the likes of the Ford Explorer, Chevy Blazer, and Toyota 4Runner. In a risk to attract a new type of buyer to the brand, Jeep rolled out the first ultra-capable, high-performance SUV. Join me in turning back the clock with facts and a story you didn't ask for, but I tell you anyway. Special...
A Legend Is Made: How The Jeep XJ Changed Everything
Просмотров 80 тыс.Год назад
When the Jeep XJ Cherokee debuted in the fall of 1983, it changed the automotive world forever. Today, it secretly dominates the industry. Dive into the story behind the legend with facts and a story you didn't ask for, but I tell you anyway. Special thanks to the XJPS Administration Team, and Glen Goodwin for some of the provided video. And THE SQUIDD for the inspiration. Written, narrated, an...
Hey Sadly here a some false information. The first unibody wasn’t our beloved xj. It was the 1977 Lada Niva.
I had an '86 manual transmission XJ, while I had many fond memories of it, that GM V6 2.8L engine was the WORST engine ever. But the I-6 4.0L was a solid workhorse.
my favs is 1984 1987 1993 and 2001 jeep cherokees to me are top of the line want to make my own one day
The effort put forth into this is incredible 👏 helluva job brother seriously you kick ass
you got another suscriber! do the Comanche next! :D
That is an Awesome jeep. I have an 2004 4.7HO GC and that aint no slow hauler either. But i think for my own preferance that the 1999-2004 is the best looking GC. It has everything right... The newer ones... Meh... got no soul anymore.. and lazy non interested designers :P
Proud owner of a 1991 Briarwood. I always wanted one in high school, but I opted for a Toyota Pickup instead. While my truck paved the way to much brand loyalty, the thought of one day owning a clean XJ was always there. I owned a cheap, high mileage ZJ, and while not perfect, it made me fall in love with the 4.0 and the nimble, rough and tumble, Slinky’esque suspension that soaked up everything. Sure, they have their issues (XJ’s), but seeing them alive and well today puts the biggest smile on my face. Product of a bygone era; you will be forever missed.
Without the french, there would be no United States. So... 3:22 bruh..,
Loved my 5.9
That was so damn fun to watch, thank you so much!
I have a five nine. This video captures my thoughts. Simple time then and these made big power then. I remember racing one in a built fox body and it was stock in ‘98. I won but it was less than a door handles worth. Those days are so far gone now….sad
Love mine. No rust.
Ram chargers are giant Jeeps on steroids I love them to death
I have the 96 limited purple with the 4.0 I have the 97 Laredo and I have the 98 orvis 318 trail edition come with skid plates all underneath built the motor things great
I have a 5.2 and the 5.9 work for Chrysler for many years believe it or not you can actually put more power into the 5.2 and it's more reliable especially after all the work I did to mine with the 508 cam amazing
The interior was a huge upgrade in the 5.9, it was calf grain leather! My father and I both had zjs, mine was a 97 limited 5.2 and my dad has the 5.9, and the difference in the leather is night and day
It was the Dakar Rally of 1988 not 83 at 6:58
Its pronounced willis not willies
Hah. I commented on another video when this video got privated. Watched it again when it came back and again now. This video will never leave me wanting for more. At the half way mark I'm already here wanting to work on mine regardless of the snow of on ground.
Attainable dream car has gotta be a 5.9, right now I own a 1995 5.2l orvis edition. Maybe look into an Orvis video? Thought they were pretty cool and for 1995 my Orvis edition has all power seats and all power windows...
Unibody was done much earlier with Lada Niva back in 70s, in SUV
Cool video! We had a silver 5.9 that we bought new and drove for 17 years.
I still miss my 1989 2,1 Diesel with MT 😢.
The 5.9 limited made SUVs never the same again.
Sissy ass playing chick music Probably wishes he could walk around in a damn dress
BEEP BEEP*** COOLANT SENSOR BAD
This actually makes me want to buy another XJ Cherokee! I miss my old Jeep and was actually one of the best cars I ever had Why did I sell 🤷
Good job on the Video
My 97 XJ 235k still running
Yea my 96 XJ has zero cup holders like wtf!! Lol 😂
Love this car....my dad bought a new one in 1994 Laredo 4 L and was a beauty ....was realy something in the eyes of other people....greets from Portorose Slovenia ❤❤❤❤
I love my restored 90 4wd 2dr. Owned a TJ before i snagged and fixed it. XJ's and TJ's are the last true jeeps we've had. Sure the Renix system is temperamental, but most dudes deal with a temperamental wife and don't put much thought process into everyday life and are impulsive as is so i can understand its not for everyone. Renix is quite easy actually, compared to my 88 BMW 325is. No I cant scan my 90's codes, but i can mentally read if something is wrong. Idle is a little funny? Check the air filter, throttle body and throttle cables. Mpg dip? Check injectors, fuel pump, injectors and fuel filter
Really nice job!
I wish I had a jeep xj
Good going
I have a 98 Cherokee I rescued from service lot purgatory. I fixed it up and have spent the last 2 years modding and restoring it. I prolly spend way too much money and time on it but its taken me from the tops of mountains to work and everything in between. Has 170k on it and hasn't let me down despite my addiction for beating the hell of it. Long live the XJ🙌
Went to go back and rewatch the A Legend is Made, the xj video. Not sure what happened to it but its no longer available... I'm really sad. I love that video. Hoping it comes back up
It’s back! Sorry there was a technical error.
@@xjhigg Yay! Time to watch that for the 8th time hahaha.
Great video and research. I've owned four of these ZJs. 2 5.9s one of them new. I don't know what it is about these Jeeps in particular but every videos comment section just turns into just a bunch of misinformation and people that have no idea what they're talking about. I even had a guy tell me that the 3.6 pentastar would smoke my ass 🤤😂🤣
have 5.9 from 1998, buy it new when i was 18, in Rome, Italy. still in my garage
Go make me a pizza Margharita
Fist you need to pay, do you have money?
@@carlocarletti6912 I will trade this 5.9 liter dodge engine It leaks oil from every gasket
do you sell it?
Oh my gosh i bet the gas must be insane in the city
I found a loop hole within a race between the Mitsubishi pajero Evo and the jeep grand cherokee 5.9 limited. The pajero had a 7.4 second 0-60 and a top speed of 130mph. But test show it actuality had a 0-60 of 6.4 seconds and a top speed of 138 mph. This was due to the gentlemans agreement. But compared to jeep manufacturers saying the jeep had a 0-60 of 6.8 seconds and a top speed of 124 mph.
Jeep said 7.3 Motor Trend said 6.8
He forgot the first full time 4 wheel drive high performance SUV. 1998 5.9 Limited, 15 second 1/4 mile time and handles mountain roads great.
Nice video!
I own a 96 4 door and a 99 2 door with 31,220 original miles
Had an 1989… Then 2 Liberty kj and now a Wrangler jk. If they would build the xj again i would buy immediately - best Jeep ever beside the TJ.
Absolutely the best documentary video I've seen. They never should have stopped producing it. The new Cherokee is a disgrace to the legendary Jeep Cherokee name!!!!
I just bought my first XJ, a wrecked 2000 with only 155kmi. Got all the damage repaired and now driving it daily. I couldn't be happier. I started my Jeep collection with a JK on 38s, and I'm so happy this XJ is my second.
I just bought a 1998 Limited in the UK 2 days ago for £1800. It's in mint condition but has a coolant leak. The previous owner took delivery of a new Land Rover Defender and doesn't have the space on his drive. I've wanted one of these for years and now It's reality 😊
I won't drive anything else. It's a Jeep thing.
300k 34 years factory internals all six of my connecting rods spun the bearings. My first vehicle have had it for 7 years Bought it and it had been wrecked today not a single dent and im replacing the motor. Been the best vehicle ive ever owned Tons of adventures and stories in that thing. Heres to another 34 years of life out of the ol boy.
Companies "beg" to have their ads on race cars? I guess racing teams just have money pouring from their asses and corporate sponsorships are more annoying than anything
Correct. There’s this company called Red Bull, they’ve made a pretty big deal out of the whole racing thing. Sure just one example, but large companies always fight to sponsor the winning teams. You don’t have to agree, but the opinions I submit are not far-fetched.
