I have been in love with Lucy from the first time I saw her on television decades ago. I know her life was so very different to ours, but she represents us. Our beginnings as humans. Her struggle to survive is our struggle. Everything she and her family and her genus learned is the seed from which we learnt to survive until now. Does anyone feel bad for the amount of suffering Lucy must’ve felt in her final moments? I mean I don’t discredit anyone else’s suffer either, but I think I saw a documentary talking about this. It showed an internal view of what was happening to her when she hit the ground. Her feet, ankles, and legs would’ve been shattered. Her knees would’ve been dislocated, if I can remember correctly. Her arm and ribs broke as she rolled on her side. I think they said the impact was equal to a high speed car crash. That’s just awful, but I think one small mercy would’ve been she’d lost consciousness quickly due to shock and internal bleeding. Still…in her brief life, she experienced so much in a harsh world.
