Kentucky spotted bass are not invasive to the Tennessee River system, people seem to confuse them with Alabama Bass (understandably, they’re incredibly similar), which are invasive from the Mobile River system. My friends and I have been doing work determining whether the Chickamauga/Nickajack populations have any of those Alabama Bass genetics, which would show via lateral line scale count, and so far we’ve not found any significant hybridization or any true Alabama Bass.
