Alton Towers is no longer the same place it was on the 90s/00's. Maybe its nostalgia playing on me, but i went recently with my kids and it just seemed....off? With the news a Universal Studios is going to be built in the UK, theyve suddenly got BIG competition.
That is a very good point, nostalgia is most likely a very high contributor to this as well

Same, Ik I’ve been slandering towers a lot recently but I love the park
3:45 the area where the fire happened isn't designed to withstand any sort of fire since it's wood and well we all know wood isn't exactly flame resistant... the element that has fire is made up of metal which you'll notice if you take a closer look at it in some cases you can actually see the shine of the metal. I'm also pretty sure the parts that are wood near the fire element have some form of flame resistant coating on them but even then it's not 100% guaranteed to protect it due to weathering and general wear and tear.
I know the big Bob structure is made out of metal but the part with the fire was made of wood and towers put out a statement saying that it is flame resistant, idk how they’d do it tho

1) I like Rita. Don’t remove it. So long as you keep your head back like the instructions tell you to, you’ll have a fun ride with some good speed and brutal g-force. 2) ride availability can depend on how busy the park is. If there’s lots of people, the rides are going to wear out faster. 3) Towers is building some new rides, mainly a new topspin where Ripsaw used to be and an indoor rollercoaster at the top of the park.
