I am an amateur videographer and a simple tourist. My channel has no commercial purpose. I travel often to Indonesia and in particular to the island of Bali.
As I am passionate about both video and Balinese culture (Hindu ceremonies, dances, music), I often film the events and shows that I attend. It is my way of keeping memories of my stays and of making known the rich culture of this island.
In the same amateur spirit, I also share images from Peru and my country, Belgium.

Diving at Manta point. Plongée à Manta point, près de Nusa Penida.
"Manta Point", not far from the south-west coast of Nusa Penida, is the best known site for divers wishing to observe manta rays. But the navigation conditions are sometimes very dangerous during rainy season; the currents are powerful and often the boatmen have to give up braving the high waves to get there. When the site is accessible, it is a pleasure to dive near these majestic angels. Here...
Kecak dance. Show at Puri Agung, Peliatan, Bali

(French text below) The Kecak is a Balinese show that combines dance and vocal percussion, with a narrative framework borrowed from the mythological epic of the Ramayana. The Kecak actually has its origins in a sacred dance, the SangHyang, a ritual dance which aims to ward off evil spirits from the village and some variants of which incorporate a male choir. The version for tourists was created...

They look like dolls, beautiful ones. The dancing is mesmerizing.
Não seja ignorante e respeite as culturas do mundo!
Everytime i watch these kind of performances i wander how they were started and how far back does it go
Wow, the music really allows you to take a step back and observe the dancers, both interesting and difficult. This must need a lot of rehearsals to synchronise dancers and musicians who remember every little detail by heart.
Why are they all so short
if this dance is not from the Philippines please tell me.
Indonesia, bali island. you can visit and enjoy the beautifull natures and cultures
I wonder which cultural Dance is this from the Philippines, there are so many provinces.
I am sure most people would understand this clip was "Copyright Bernard Marchal" if a brief mention were made before or after the actual performance: those few who didn't shouldn't be a cause for concern, since their obvious mental challenge would likely prevent them from even knowing how to violate said copyright in any event. But to have this mention appear permanently on the screen, and in a very visible size and position at that, is an unnecessary, unwelcome and frankly, amazingly irritating distraction.

CUUUUTTT! The 418th neck-twitch was too subtle. Once again from the top...
If you dance but just 1 of little mistake, some few creepy things can break your bones.
How would you explain this dance if you tried? Dolls arguing?
nicely done!
Maravilhosos❤❤❤
The dancer on the right may be prettier, but the one on the left looks far more skilled.

Such great dancers. It's unimaginable how they were able to memorize the steps of this dance. Their eyes were also sychronized. Such great talents. Greetings from the Philippines! 💖
Excellent sound quality much appreciated! The first time I heard them live, the Tirta Sari gamelan had me in tears. The quality of dancing is also unparalleled.
I guess I'll be the odd man out here and say that this is going to give me nightmares for a very long time 😂😮😅
When I was studying king fu about 20 years ago, I started looking at this type of dance. The dance and the music. The movements are so precise, this is beautiful. Thanks for the post.
Are the dancer male? It is my understanding the dances are perform by man because it was or is prohibited for women to dance in these performances?
Seems a lil demonic??? Eh???
C'est la musique d'AKIRA 😮

Something special about the woman on the left.
I agree! Her face expressions seem more genuine somehow

Burma, Laos, Vietnam and other island countries in ASEAN all have their own unique cultures, which are very interesting and worth seeing. This is different from Cambodia, whose culture is based on Thailand. Some people claim the culture of their neighbors to the point of losing their own identity and abandoning their original culture and turning to copying the culture of other countries to make it their own. It can be said that they are slaves to the culture of that country without realizing it because they do not think of preserving and caring for their own culture, including developing and creating it for the international community to know and realize that this is the true culture of Cambodia.
I got to see something similar to this when I was in Bali, as well as the shadow theater in Jakarta , hearing thay music as a young kid really hit me, I was entranced.. hearing it again... i love it
The music and dancers creeps me out....like something from hell

On our first trip to Bali in the 1980's, we were staying at the Bali Hyatt. Of course, it's right on the equator and it can be blazing hot during the day. The hotel had a gamelan group playing by the pool. I noticed that the band had moved away from the pool and had set up near some workers who were trimming the foliage and started playing for the workers. I thought that was wonderful and so much in keeping with the blissful nature of Bali. We haven't been back for a while so I hope that the onslaught of tourists hasn't changed Bali from what it once was.
welche Mythologie steckt hinter diesen sehr beindruckenden Tänzen?
