@@stevenJEDI3 I'm in the same boat learning to do my HX one tonner, welds aren't pretty but most of it will be hidden anyway. One thing I'm learning is not to grind it all away as it makes it too weak, those other channels snad them real flat but that isn't required. Tap the welded spots in with the dolly hammer and filler will smooth it over later. Enjoying your videos, you can see how you've improved with each one.

@@oo0Spyder0oo Thanks mate appreciate it I wasn’t really getting much feedback off people I did say to my girlfriend though that I’m sure there’s a handful of people out there that are in the same boat trying to do the same thing, I agree with the weld’s that you don’t see I think give him a light cleanup but obviously with the welds that you do see you have to try to make them as flash as possible

@@stevenJEDI3 Yeah it can take a while for people to start seeing the videos and while you might not get feedback it doesn't mean no one's watching. It will always be a tome of reference for people to see how it's done. You really have some tricky bits and I applaud the work you have put into it. I got my knickers in a knot just doing the plenum, getting the spot welds out and removing the cowl so good on you.

Thanks mate I appreciate your import I do have a HX statesman out the back I did a quick measurement and compare that to HQ inner tub and the statesman has 15 mil more clearance, then a HQ but that’s the size tire I want to fit is 295/50/15 I just remember how good it looked back in the day

G’day mate where I live there’s no one around here that does that but it looks like I’m replacing a lot of the steel anyway I’m taking my time to do a lot of preparation before I seal up anything and make sure I use a good quality rust converter to stop rust ever coming back hopefully Do you know what it cost to get a car dipped I’ve only ever had things Sandblaster

G’day mate it certainly would’ve of been easier if I had a better car to start with but I think I’ll slowly get there and make it rust free again Or I’ll try my best

@@stevenJEDI3 I would do all your repairs and rust conversion then enquire about having the body dipped in stripper . These places typically leave the body with a protective coating . The real good places even dry the body in an oven then magnetically spray coat .

G’day mate I had the same issue, I looked and I couldn’t find anyone who had done an inner sill only outer I’m going through the whole car I just ripped out the back floor today I’m going to Mini Tub the car also and redo the boot Rear quarters also under the front windscreen it’s my first attempt and I’m finding it not that hard to do

@@stevenJEDI3 mine is also my first restoration, I’ve cut out the plenum and next will be the dash as it’s rusted really bad. My drivers side sill is toast and most of the floor

I’ve just been taking plenty of measured photographs and keeping everything at the moment that I’m cutting off, so if I run into a hick up I can look back at photographs or all the parts

@@stevenJEDI3 that’s a smart idea… I’m so worried about bracing and supporting the whole car. I started cutting the plenum chamber out and then freaked out that I twisted the car. Everything I doi worrie am I doing it right because I’m not a pro at this. I’m just using common sense and asking guys with experience..

@@nathanmacready872 I’d say don’t stress just do your best and I’m pretty sure you wouldn’t get any panel distortion by taking out the front plenum and Cowell, I’ve removed mine and I’m waiting for some 1.2 Cold roll steel So I can make a start myself

Hello the canister takes the water from the sump and I would clean it once every three months using the main tank water to flush I never use freshwater always old main tank water

Extra it’s a 1,200 litre tank With sump
