Any hike that takes longer then few days is an expedition. I say > week ==> expedition. It can be *easy* and short expedition or it can be *long*, technically demanding expedition with a lot of dangers etc. Thus Mera is a short, easy, safe expedition. K2 is a long, physically demanding, technical and dangerous expedition. Weekend adventure, even 3 day weekend == to short to be an expedition. There could be exceptions, for example, you could do Island peak, get acclimatized and then do Anam Dablam as a quick 3 day climb - but I would combine both mountains into one expediton.

Ola! There was no training really. I mean: Im a keen runner, cyclist, i do lots of skitouring and climbing. I grew up in the alps and im that kind of person that loves sports so I have Always been ready for It. Once to the summit i felt very very good, not tired at All. Actually felt that we have been too slow. In my standards I would Say that climbing few 4000 peaks and being able to run without fatigue 10K in around 45 mins Will guarantee you the summit. Also the experiences i had in the mountains back home made me feeling comfortable where many felt sick or tired. Last tip. Leave your phone in Kathmandu.

@@francescopanero3969 As for the running, no problem, I would just need some more climbing training I guess. And: yes, I've once left my phone in Europe while doing the Manaslu circuit - good choice! Thanks for your tips!

@@francescopanero3969 10 km in 45 minutes makes you a fairly elite athlete(ie Australian city2surf in under a hour not fatigued)I except good fitness is expected but dontt you think tha is a bit excessive?plenty of 50-60yr olds travel to nepal that cant run that fast?

@@petersajkic6749 ye u probably right. Those values were suggested in the training booklet provided by Jagged Globe (the company that I used for thus trip) Let's say that if your fitness is at that level you will not be tired for the whole length of the trip. Plus I'd say that 10k in 33/35 mins is elite. My 45 mins are an average mediocre time ;)

@@francescopanero3969 im looking at travelling to nepal in around 12mths.was looking at ebc or mera peak Im 40.. my fitness is a fair way off thst level.i regularly do 15-20,km hikes though....only looking at options atm

purtroppo sono sempre io che filmo quindi non video perchè l'ho fatta io da primo. E' molto facile. Io mi sono portato le scarpette e le ho messe ma erano abbastanza inutili. La prima placca è solida e la passi usando il fessurone di sinistra, poi il secondo "tiro" hai più appigli ma alcuni suonano vuoti quindi fai attenzione. ciao
