Lost Media Bytes #3: "Lust U Always"
Просмотров 17 тыс.Год назад
In the early 1980s, legendary musician Prince created a song called "Lust U Always" that was actually too nasty to release. However, he still really wanted to get this song off the ground, and for a time, he thought it could be pulled off by...Robert Palmer? "Funkenstein is a f*g" is a reference to a lyric to Gamin' On Ya.
Starchild was played by Garry Shider
Fantastic stuff. Are you aware of some footage associated with a so-called P-Funk movie that was supposedly in production circa 1977-78? The Motor Booty Affair album has a small print on it saying "from a motion picture underwater". Well, I heard that was supposed to be a real movie and they did some footage of the mothership landing at the United Nations. Also, there is a feature on the P-Funk Underwater tour that was featured on the old local TV news lifestyle show "PM Magazine" (syndicated thru several local stations throughout). Super rare I have no idea how I would begin to try to find that one. Any advice on either?
As a queer person, the use of slurs probably isn't an issue, the albums themselves use that word in the same context, and are legally available on youtube/streaming. I can guarantee a good portion of P-Funk's audience even at the time were lgbt of some kind no less. It's more likely the other reasons keeping these locked away.
Hopefully your video adds some momentum to the search. Thanks!
I hope one day they come out
Nice Blass From The Pass.!!..There was also Illustrator Cartoonist Multimedian Ronald "Stozo The Clown " Edwards whose Saturday Morning Cartoon style funky characters He also created album covers ,animation and puppet creations for Funkadelic,George Clinton & The PFunk Allstars and PFunk Spin off groups like Fred Wesley and The Horny Horns ,Parlet, and projects with Bootsy's Rubber Band,Fuzzy Haskins and more...some of his art is seen in this video and admired by pfunk fans around the Chocolate Milky Way !!
This documentary is amazing! Thank you so much for creating it! 🤘🏾🛸🤘🏾
Im doctor funknstein
James Brown pioneered funk with "Cold Sweat", but The Mothership made it intergalactic. The full cartoons are a funk treasure. Don't forget the song "Let's Play House" inspired The Humpy Dance.
I'm still sad that Lust U always didn't make it on 1999 super deluxe
Thanks for that it’s well received and appreciated ✌🏼🤘🏼😀
11:15 may I ask to the person that posted this, is that a Prince song or someone else's music? plz respond. thanks
Daylight by Otis McDonald. Says at the end of the video.
I’m trying to find the song around 8:13
I bet that someone with the album and a basic idea of the plot could make a decent Miku Miku Dance video out of this! What? I'm serious! You have any idea how many "Boot to the Head" MMD videos there are now?
Thanks for uploading!
The lost track is in a vault. It is locked up in Northern London. Not allowed to sell source or info.
Love it !!! Bring it back !!!
P-FUNK EARTH TOUR IS THE GREATEST TOURS EVER. Started listening at 14 and won 3rd place in name the MOTHERSHIP. ME AND MY BROTHER CALLED IT CHOCOLATE RAINBOW. We won back stage pass to the shrine auditorium concert 1975 and all of the albums out from Casablanca . THOSE WERE THE DAYS

I have the published script. As a big fan on the comic AND a musical theater fan, this thing has always been a fascinating anomaly.

This is a really awesome video, I hope this channel really grows ❤
This narrator sounds like shes about to sneeze for 12 minutes
The songs advertised here within the first minute. I would’ve told you (they suck) this isn’t the same band played maggot brain. If this is mtv that’s why. Fucking irritating narrative. MTV played typical trend like this bitches voice. Good video.
What is the closing credits song for this video? Shazam isn't picking it up. Thanks.
This was very informative. Thanks for sharing.
the character design's have a similar art style to Junichi Hayama artwork
Funkadelic/Parliament are one of the best soul and psychedelic funk bands
Ok remember this was in the very beginning of his career and wasnt that well knnown. When he was in the bikini briefs and trench coats phase. Prince made mistakes but learned from them and grew. Like he used to swear but said that he stopped when he appeared on the George Lopez show years later. Mr. Palmer should have told Prince the truth. But I can understand how he didn't want to offend Prince. I'm glad it was never released.
Yeeaaahhh !!😃❤️🙌🏾
The Kiss cover by Tom Jones was never approved by Prince
2:38 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
You think you could do more live stage show lost media? I love stage shows! Plus lost media is cool!
