Creating a LXC Container that uses Debian Linux Creating a Virtual Machine for Open Media Vault All for a home/NAS server.
This is BRILLIANT! It took me longer to find this video then to actually follow your guide. My Proxmox sever hardware setup is laughable for sure but who needs TrueNAS when all I really need is a simple smb share for my network. My zfs pool is 3 x 2.5 inch 2TB spinners in a raidz1. Not blazing fast but it works. Thanks for doing this!
My file doesnt have EAPOL protocol its just 802.11 what should i do
It don’t work for my T-Mobile wifi
@@trevonnewalker-lx7je That is correct. It will only work with 2.4ghz band. The flipper doesn’t support 5ghz band.
something more for educational purposes??::))
@DolphingMoney888-s6y 🤣 I’m working on some more content to hopefully have out in the next few days.
@@Cuevista i be around ;]
When will they make a board that can attack 5G? You still need a laptop and WiFi router to do it
@@Thadopeera Not sure, the general consensus is the flipper zero doesn’t have the power to support the 5ghz band. However, remember 2.4ghz band reaches a lot further than 5ghz. So if you’re on a shoe string budget, you’re not buying another node for 5hz to reach…you will use 2.4ghz to reach that device. The 2.4ghz band will not die until the cost for multiple 5ghz nodes comes down.
That's is true ,,2.4 GHz works further but weak,5 GHz is strong but is very weak in signal range..
it says to me whenever i try to use the evil portal "Operation is not supported" Please help
most routers dont allow Deauth anymore though... doesnt work
Hmmm?!? I'm running a new ASUS router and any device that is connected on the 2.4ghz band will deauth.
@@Cuevista yah some will deauth but they gettin rare
Because most routers now using 2.4ghz and 5ghz, when 2.4 g is down, devices who support 5g will connect there. You need to log in to "your" router and turn 5g off, then youll be an administrator :)
@@cotob.6300 like i said, doesnt work anymore, the way it was suppose to be intended
did the update and got the marauder install/downloaded, when trying to add the portals I dont have the marauder on the apps_data page
Hmmm?!? Make sure you clicked on option number one when you installed Marauder.
@@Cuevista I did, but will try to reinstall
it wont show marauder in my app data
Hmmm?!? Double check that the unleashed firmware was installed and the maruader firmware was installed on the WiFi dev board.
Error : Could not find /ap.config.txt Help pls
Hmmm?!? Make sure you add a SSID, List the AP and get the sequence number, and then Set the AP to the list sequence number.
Should I use this or unleashed?
@@UnknownCorner69 You can use Unleashed, Xtreme, Roguemaster or Momentum to name a few. I have used several different firmwares for the flipper and I found that Unleashed seems like the less buggy one.
says my app is to old.. So i connected my phone via bluetooth and updated the app and works now.
@@WPGinterceptor460Interceptor which part? Installing unleashed? If it is update to the latest flipper zero standard firmware and try again.
Thanks bro first updated how-to that worked for me!
No problem 👍. I’m glad it worked for you.
you say uh a lot
Yes, I do. Count them and let me know how many it was. 😂
achieved the same with esp32 and momentum firmware ...., this was a thing when 5ghz was not present yet, now it's pretty useless
Definitely not as exploitable as it once was, but still applicable on many outdated networks.
I appreciate the clear and straight to the point video
Following this guide I was able to setup my Samba share, but I am having a hard time adding it on another of my ProxMox servers on the same network. Datacenter -> Storage -> Add: SMB/CIFS -> Fill in settings and I get the error "Create storage failed: mkdir /mnt/pve/testSMB/images: Permission denied at /usr/share/perl5/PVE/Storage/Plugin.pm line 1421. (500)" What can I do to add the share?
Just wanted to thank you. Really great video without any nonsense. I prefer this style and wish you had more.
@@r.cooper5505 Thank you! I’m working on trying to produce more videos. Is there anything particular you’re interested in?
Thanks, how would i actually copy files from another vm or pc to the ZFS pool so i can watch them in plex?
@@Aghnanster I would set up a network share on the ZFS pool like on my video prior to this then set up a network share on the vm or pc and perform a copy and paste.
@@Cuevista Thanks! worked
The amount of time saved in trying to DO this by watching this is measured in hours!!! +1
Do I need a domain name registered with sites like godaddy before hand? Bit confused with the domain name portions. So the goal will be to provide a user-friendly url to friends/family and they can access our plex server securely?
@@M8B2L8 Yes, you will need to purchase a domain name. I would suggest porkbun.
First of all, thank you for your instructions. Please, if you can, show us how we can connect to the Samba server from outside using dyndns.
@@alielahi490 I will check into it. Thank you!
Best and easiest thing you can do is configure a VPN with a dynDNS and then, if you're not on the network, you can turn on that VPN and connect to your Samba share as if you were in the network. I don't know any other way (but I'm not an expert either).
@@Cuevista thank you very much 🙏
ahh that pct command worked! Thanks.
When i go to the IP, it's telling me "Not authorized", that I "do not have access to this server" and I need to "claim it" be going to the Plex menu in the macOS menu bar or Windows system tray.. Any idea why?
@@JordanFD I'm not familiar with that particular error.
@@Cuevista I was able to finally figure it out. I had to set up a VPN tunnel to the plex server in Proxmox from my PC, then log in to plex using the localhost web address.
@@JordanFD Good to hear, thanks for posting your solution.
Great content! Thank you. Just a note that they seem to have changed the behaviour of the pct command. you need to add "volume=" before the mount path Example: pct set [LXC id name] -mp0 volume=mypool/Movies,mp=/Movies
Thanks for the heads up!
Thank you a lot! I was looking for this a long time! Kepp up the good work!
Can i use it for giving PLEX a directory for my movies? Did not find any easy description like yours... So i mean does Plex find it too?
@@ReisalTrax Yes, you can. Just use the full path.
@@Cuevista Thank you a lot!
When I ls on my Storage zfs pool it just shows the subvol-102-disk-0 My share doesn't show until I go into that folder. How is your not showing that? Did I miss something from the last video on samba?
No, you did not miss anything. I actually renamed my folder structure in between this video and the previous video. You will just have to use subvol-102-disk-0 in your path name.
Did you not get R/W errors in the SMB? According to proxmox you should have also "change the container UID mapping" as the LXC is unprivileged. I'm also looking to drop truenas for a simple samba/ftp LXC but kept getting R/W issues.
Hmmm?!? No, I did not get any read/write issues.
Add this line of code to LXC configuration, maybe you able to enable hardware acceleration. Its working for me, Last night I had installed plex in LXC, but I did not get enough time to test it properly I am using Hp 800 G3 Tiny PC Intel Core i5 6th gen lxc.cgroup.devices.allow: c 226:0 rwm lxc.cgroup.devices.allow: c 226:128 rwm lxc.cgroup.devices.allow: c 4:7 rwm lxc.cgroup.devices.allow: c 29:0 rwm lxc.mount.entry: /dev/dri/card1 dev/dri/card1 none bind,optional,create=file lxc.mount.entry: /dev/dri/renderD128 dev/dri/renderD128 none bind,optional,create=file lxc.mount.entry: /dev/tty7 dev/tty7 none bind,optional,create=file lxc.mount.entry: /dev/fb0 dev/fb0 none bind,optional,create=file
when i try to map this share to windows it say " Windows cannot access \\192.168.0.113" followed by check the spelling of the name. otherwise there might be a network problem" I tried to diagnose and it say no errors detected ,,,,and advice...?
Hmmm?!? Try adding the full path \\192.168.0.113\[share name]
Sorted it works great
Благодарю, теперь стабильная скорость по SMB 110MB/S и загрузки CPU 4% и MEM 9Gb, в отличии от TrueNAS.
Thank you for the videos
Thanks for your comment.
Job for nginx.service failed because the control process exited with error code. See "systemctl status nginx.service" and "journalctl -xe" for details. ??????? cant you help me
Double check all your ".conf files". It sounds like a syntax error.
@@Cuevista Thank you sir
Thanks for the video was really helpful. Could you please do one for *arr. services such as radar, sonar, and. prowler, where in you connecting the samba share to all the * are services along with a torrent client. Also when I tried to restart the service goat this error - Job for smbd.service failed because the control process exited with error code. See "systemctl status smbd.service" and "journalctl -xeu smbd.service" for details. Could you please help.
I have never worked with those; however, you should be able to map them inside the container you create as a shared folder. As far as the error goes, double check your settings in the smb.conf. Make sure you are mapped to the pool. Sometimes you have to include additional folders to get to the pool path depending on your setup.
man.... thank you so much for making this video. I don't know how many days of reading you've saved me. By the way: to save you some time in nano, if you want to delete a ton of text just highlight it all and hit CTRL+K.
No problem. Thanks for the tip. I am definitely not a linux guru.
