Robert "Rolo" Szabo

Rolo began performing as a drummer for a progressive rock band called Ear Theory in 2010 in Richmond, Virginia. In 2018 in Austin Texas, a friend, Hudson, convinced him to start singing and playing alternative and pop rock covers and the duo started Good Enough for a House Party which would later include his brother and another friend, Steve. In 2021, Rolo wrote the song "Waiting for the Day" as a result of thoughts and experiences from the Marines. The following year in 2022, he found the song Clay Pigeons by Blaze Foley and fell in love with the country western and folk style of music due to the expressive story telling. It was the most comfortable guitar playing and singing style to him. In 2023, Rolo and Steve started "She Called us Outlaws" and performed various open mics in Austin Texas, frequenting the Twin Creeks Icehouse. Rolo is currently in Colorado, performing in small and larger venues and exploring his own style of song writing and keeping the old songs alive.

I played this at the Green Mountain beer company near Denver, Colorado with the help of a stranger friend named Brad. he was awesome and join me for most of my set this evening. Not knowing most of the songs yet. still adding some great rhythm.

First time I ever played this song at a party a few weeks ago. It was requested and boy did she bring it! Next time I'll put the camera in a better spot so my big hat isn't in the way of the real star. Song from the recent A Star is Born movie with Bradley Cooper and Lady Gaga.

Hi I’m trying to find the tabs or anything to help me learn this song. Where did you learn this?
tabs.ultimate-guitar.com/tab/benjamin-tod/long-gone-chords-2987939 I get most of my tabs and chord charts from Ultimate Guitar. I don't know if there's an official tabbed version so I used this one which showed the chords. I listened to the song a bunch and kinda made up a "Travis picking" that sounded right.

Ha thank you and I assure you I will. Just don't watch my other video of me playing in the cold (Pancho and Lefty Cover). Its crazy how you tune a guitar up, then walk outside and it sounds like this. It's crazier that I KNOW this. And yet it still happens. I'll do better next time and hopefully make you cringe a little less ha. Thanks again!

@@RoloPlaysMusic Ive had a Mansfield guitar my grandparents bought me back in the 70s. Even have extra Martin Bronze strings. Never took the time to learn, was always too busy. I'm getting close to retirement and been thinking about going to the crossroads to learn. .

Ok my honest critique This is pretty good. You have one strong that’s flat I can’t tell which. Guitar playing is great. Singing is decent. You hit most of the notes. Practice each song with the original song and concentrate on the notes. It’s hard to play and sing. Then put it all together. Overall well done mate 💪🏽
Thank you for the constructive criticism! it was cold outside and that messed with my tuning. I was in the zone when this was recording so when I noticed something was off I decided to keep it rolling. And thank you for the compliments. I still have work on this song and look forward to a professional take one day.

one of the best covers so far, the guitar is great. You play this exactly like Blaze did others do their own version of the picking. There is a name for Blazes style of picking but I don't know the name.
