Never Be Afraid To Buy An Orchid Again! Simple Way To Keep An Orchid Alive FOREVER!!!
Your video was very helpful and informative and organized.. Our home has a dozen 100" oak trees and even more tall pines so not alot of sunlight. I want to add some plants inside due to the long winters here. I made notes and I'm heading to my local nursery this weekend to see what they might have. Thank you.
If you let the ginger keep growing it will send up a beautiful flower, reminiscent of gladiolas. Mine flowers planted outside, in the ground in tall grass prairie black soil, full sun.
Why would you move to a sun scorched area such as that? If I can use an analogy, It's like putting a shade plant in direct sun. Congratulations on not destroying the plant or yourself !
Like, ya got that 90’s Valley talk. Ya know, like?
My auto mechanic has a margenada in his waiting area. It’s very old and was gifted to him. It snakes around and is probably 20-25 feet. He had it transplanted into a ginormous pot.
Wow that sounds really nice. You should ask him if you can have it lol
Cool video.
Thanks 🫶
Your pop up add is super annoying watching your video
What pop up ad?
Did you ever see the snake plant bloom? When mine got old enough it made a spike of white tiny flowers that were beautifully fragrant!
Yes I have seen it before! Super cool!
I give my plants and my cats rain water. I bought a bunch of plants two years ago, they were living very good but since last two months there was no rainwater and watered them with tabwater only once. Now they are all dying😢 tabwater in Belgium is so bad also it damages my hair.
Oh no!! If you use bottled water or even put your tap water through a Brita filter that might help?
Lelies are very toxic for cats
I need one that doesn't need Water either...
lol
Simply Beautiful video❤🎉😊
Thanks a lot 😊
I would definitely add the prayer plant to this list.
When I lived in California I had an Australian Tree Fern in the flowerbed next to my entryway. It grew to a height just above the eve. I had a Gold Dust Acuba in front of it. They were sooo pretty together. Never knew you could grow that fern as a houseplant.
Oh yeah that sounds like a great combo
I had a little boston fern once, in a darker room. It didn't take it well at all. Took it to rehab to my grandma's where it got plenty of light and it thrived. So I personally wouldn't recommend fern in a darker room
I haven’t seen the rainbow moss before. It would be great for a bathroom
Definitely
Phenomenal video!!!! 🥳🥳🥳

Love this thank you! I’m looking for a plant to put in my praying mantis enclosure. It needs low light, higher humidity, and very small. I loved all this knowledge and the way you presented it. I subscribed so I can learn more. Thanks!
Praying mantis enclosure… that sounds awesome!! Thanks for watching, glad you liked the video!
What did you do before becoming a famous plant parent???
Great ideas for gifts all year long. ❤Canada 🇨🇦
Wow beautifull video🎥🎥 💞💞💞👍👍👍👍😘
Your channel an accidental but delightful find! Subscribing ❤❤❤❤
Great well organised and captivating with tonnes of pointers. Thank you. I was thrown off course by the info on the peace Lilly though… that can certainly be killed with overwatering. It’s called the Prima Donna of all plants for a reason. Overwatering or underwater ing or water that is too chlorinated or over fertilising or underfertilizing will throw this beautiful plant off… I have one and it’s not always easy to keep those brown tips from starting and growing…. Nevertheless most of this video was brilliant and will have me scouting for some more of these plants. Well done.
This is so helpful! I jotted down the ones I’m going to try to find. Thank you for compiling this information and showing the pictures of each specimen. The tips on growth, water, etc, is invaluable. I’m definitely going to try finding the Australian tree fern. I live close to a large metropolitan area in north Texas so I might have good luck. Thanks for providing your time and effort into making this video and then sharing it. 😊❤️
Thanks for taking the time to watch 🫶
👍🏼🙏
low light plants just mean it will die slower.
How about orchids? Thanks for sharing!!
Orchids need to be next to a window!

I recently got a cactus spine stuck in my knuckle; in the vein that runs across the first knuckle of the index finger. That was 4 weeks ago. That day my finger became inflamed and I couldn’t bend it. To this day, it is still sore & hurts when I bend it. Now I know why you don’t grow spiny cacti.
Haha now you get me. I actually just heard a real old school method for getting out cactus spines. Kinda weird but it works. You make a paste out of animal fat and salt. I used duck fat. And then put that on the spot and cover it overnight with a bandage. It should pull out the cactus spine.
@ I’ve made a note of it and will keep for future reference. Thank you.
lol😂sorry
@ 😂
Very interesting plants! Im a plant lover and hadn't heard of some of these!! Amazing!!
Thanks for watching I appreciate you!!!
Hello. What’s the difference between a Money Tree and a Schlaffer (sp) ??
Hi! Money tree is Pachira aquatica, and schefflera arboricola is known as the umbrella tree. They definitely look similar!
@ Thank you
My peace lily doesn't like too much water.... the tips of the leaves become brown, then the whole leaf eventually dies...
BEAUTIFUL#NOT A DAY WITHOUT JESUS 🙏
Back in the 70s when I only had about 75 plants, I decided to give African Violets a go. It was my fist attempt at leaf propagation and I was hooked. The idea that you could stick a leaf in the ground and it grew a plant had me spellbound. I went on to air layering and branch cuttings with success. I "won't" mention rooting stems of hundreds of plants because that's obvious! Thank you for this channel and being human about everything, rather than fake "pseudo-intellectual"!
If you “only” had 75 plants back then I can only imagine how many you have now! Thanks so much for the kind words, and for taking the time to watch. It’s always awesome to connect with fellow growers!!
@@HouseplantHelp Unfortunately, I move cross country and had to sacrifice my collection. I have a very few new ones. I still dream about them, though!
My husband was just saying cutting down a Christmas tree is so wrong. I agree. I’ll try growing the tree you talked about. Ty
Your cat is so playful 🐾✨🐾
I never knew orchids were so expansive!! That’s crazy!!
How can I help a plant 🪴 I accidentally over watered 3 days ago
Just give it time to dry out!
My Chinese evergreen blooms. She's my favorite.
He's right about pothos. They are hard to kill. I poured pure chlorine bleach in a potted pothos that belonged to my ex. It survived. Never suffered 1 day.
Lololol savage move
Fantastic video, great presentation! Looking for Australian tree fern now, but may have to settle for Boston fern based on typical winter inventories in Illinois. For now anyway.
Yeah I’ve only seen one at a store near where I live once. It may be easier to find one online and get it shipped. Although that could also be risky in the winter, you may have to wait for warmer weather either way! Thanks for watching!!
I live in the tropics and rainforest in Australia and I agree the tree fern is the most beautiful and never tire of seeing it. Wonderful film thank you. I have just found you 💞
Thanks so much for watching!!!
@@HouseplantHelp I adore your films you are so enjoyable and easy to watch. Thank you
I want every plant now. They’re all so beautiful and different. I definitely want to get a rattle snake. Thank you for sharing all your knowledge of plants. I live in an apartment so I don’t have much room but I have 11 plants on my windowsills. I would love to put a few on my fridge & smaller ones on my counters here & there. I’m addicted. 🌿🌱🍃🎍🌾
Haha yes it can certainly become addicting! Thanks so much for watching 🫶
so lovable because he loves all the plants so much ❤

12:13 This is perfect! I love your advice for wanting less common plants. I already have a decent amount of pothos from picking up discarded stems from lowe’s and propagating them. I was hoping you’d get to trailing plants and you did! Thank you! Listening to you at work, and I really appreciate the way you are laying out information.
Thanks so much for the kind words and for watching my videos 🫶
You can wrap it round & round with a towel until it’s pretty much padded. Then tape the towel so it doesn’t unravel.
Smart. This is what I should’ve done lol.
😍😍
