    @ZachDasher, I have a question pertaining to the doctrines of my church I'm currently attending. Last year, Al gave me your email to message you about something different but I received no answer. Is there a way someone could email you or DM you, if we are looking for your opinion and discernment on such things? Please & thanks

    It says Ray, but this is his wife, Roxy, just to not be confusing. This is the best podcast yet. I have been a Christian and sat under preaching my whole life and you are giving me much to consider. I love that. I had always been taught that Jesus was baptized as an example, which may have some truth and is good. However, to know that there is more is so good. Also, Zach, you married up buddy. Jill is so smart and so beautiful and just blesses me every time I have heard her speak. Good job 👍🏼!! 😂 Roxy

    I love the comment about how people try to reduce the baptism of the Holy Spirit to speaking in tongues. I have several friends that are apostolic Pentecostal and they claim if you don’t speak in tongues you aren’t saved since the evidence of salvation is expressed through tongues.. according to them. I wrestled with this for a while because I never felt the urge to speak in tongues. To me the evidence of salvation is a new person… new desires… new attitude… new perspective… all around new creation. Could you elaborate on this maybe?

    Thank you for highlighting the incredible connections between Old and New Testaments and how they all point to Jesus. I grew up thinking of the Old Testament as somewhat irrelevant, often reduced to Sunday school stories for kids. I couldn’t have been more wrong. It all fits together perfectly. My eyes have been opened to how the word of God is indeed living and active. It boggles the mind! Thanks for the time and energy you put into the podcast.

    I was baptized, having never heard the gospel, it was just something I was supposed to do to be a member of the baptist church. Then years later I listened to Phil Robertson, on you tube, preach the death, burial and resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ. I believe it, and I know that Jesus is Lord! Do I need to be baptized again?

    • @dawnsisson
      @dawnsisson 17 часов назад

      I am not them, but just to share my thoughts on being baptized again is if you feel the need than you should. I was baptized at 5. I had no clue what I was doing. I felt the need to do it again as an adult. On another note, my daughter was baptized at 7 and 100% knew what she was doing.

    Sorry, this is a long comment, but I had several thoughts on this. My thought on John the Baptist not wanting to baptize Jesus is that he didn’t feel like He was worthy to do it. I’m sure he was aware of his shortcomings and didn’t think he was good enough to baptize Jesus. To me, this highlights the graciousness of God and how He invites us in to participate in His work and what He has planned. I agree with what was shared in the podcast as well, that John recognized Jesus’ holiness and felt inferior because of that too. These two struggles tend to be common to humanity: feeling unworthy because of personal shortcomings and feeling inferior because of how good God is and how we view how good others are. Regardless of how true these two aspects may be, God still invites us to participate in His Kingdom work here on earth. And in the participation, we will find ourselves being ever more fruitful … not perfect or even close, but transformed by the Holy Spirit by the renewing of our minds.
