It works very well with this combination until second part hits top F. Is this going to be valid? The odd bit about this Trio is that two different versions of the 2nd movement abound, each of which is slightly irregular and runs to a different number of bars. Out of all the time I have known this work, I only discovered this disparity last week. The next question we propose is ‘ did Haydn write two versions and if so why.? No - one else appears to have commented on this . Haydn is also silent.

How varied is the music that this amazing compositor wrote. In this Concertante in F major, the dialogue between the three instruments is truly brilliant. The harmony and interpretation between the various players is unbelievable. Ignaz was a magnificent and sublime musician who enchants and seduces us with this masterpiece. The interpretation is superb and of extraordinary vivacity. Viva Ignaz Moscheles and his divine music. Thanks for this remarkable and lovely recording.
