    Nice video, I’m pretty sure I took this route in the late 70’s and again in the early 80’s on school trips to France (Boulogne) to Folkestone and Dover from Cheltenham and Gloucester.

    Memories...I wonder if anyone else shares them. I grew up in Thornton Heath in the 1950s and until around 1960 it was my local station to travel to my Gran's house in East Croydon. Look at the stretch between the two bridges on the London side of TH. Does anyone remember the two headshunts for the west (fast side) and east yards? You can clearly still see where they were. And the incredible trailing ladder crossover between the two, battered noisily and constantly by PULs, PANs and BELs on the fast lines? What about the retaining wall to the train's left as it approaches the second bridge, now mainly topped with a wire fence but, at the abutment, not so. I used to sit up there and watch those leviathans thunder across the ladder and it looks as though I still could perch there today. And follow that wall around to the left after the bridge. That was the boundary of the east yard, a huge (to my young eyes) complex of sidings devoted, I believe, entirely to coal, where on at least one occasion my Dad took me to see if he could beg or scrounge a bag of nutty slack or dust to feed our depleted stock...

    what is the ECR for North Pole Depot? Looks like it could either be Didcot or Rugby, is there an OHNS between those two somewhere in the depot?

    • @andrewbeadle9168
      @andrewbeadle9168 2 месяца назад

      @contrapunctusmammalia3993 the ECR would be RUGBY for OLE AT np depot conductor rail Lewisham until Clapham the ECR transfer to SELHURST

    • @contrapunctusmammalia3993
      @contrapunctusmammalia3993 2 месяца назад

      @andrewbeadle9168 the issue is, the OLE at north pole depot is now connected to GWML as the depot is used by IETs. GWML is controlled from Didcot so there must be a boundary between Didcot (technically TVCC) and Rugby as the connection from the WLL is still electrified. Also I've heard that selhurst ecr shut down last year, it's last routes being the crystal palace line and epsom downs branch - it's all gone to Brighton

    6V18 if I’m not mistaken. If this video was taken 4 months ago, once you pass CXA575 on the Up Maidstone, you then come under EKSC ( East Kent Signalling Centre ) Rochester workstation until you get to Higham. Then North Kent 2 take over. CX101 is Cuxton’s 1st signal.

    Excellent videos you produce, I've used them a lot during route learning especially as you put all the indications that can be received at signals. I will query whether TVC680 in the up direction can give the "T" indication as the 15mph crossover runs from the up to the down (according to the Sectional Appendix); should this have instead been included for TVC682 or would you be crossing over to cross back again OR is my SA out of date?

    • @driverseyevideos
      @driverseyevideos Год назад

      As far as I’m aware what I’ve put is correct. I had it double checked with a former Eurostar driver plus help from the previous videos comments section. From TVC680 indicators P and T take you to the same destination (W932 on the Down Sheepcote) however when you get a T you briefly cross over to the Up West London via the first crossover (298s) and then back to the Down Sheepcote after Latchmere No3 Jn at the next crossover (281s). Indicator P keeps you on the Down West London, through Latchmere No 3 and onto the Down Sheepcote. Hope this makes sense.
