I know this video is old, but i rarely see people talking about how Haruspex's route is about the cyclical cycle of fatherhood/the inversion of fatherhood. Despite Isidor being Artemy's father, Artemy is having to time and time again take responsibility for Isidor. Artemy obvious loves his father, but he hadn't been back to the town in 10 years. Artemy knows there are faults with his father, and yet at every turn he has to contend with the fact that he has to live up to a semi mystical image of his father that he knows is not the reality of the man for the sake of the kinfolk. Like you said of his ending, while he preserves the town, there's no guarantee that it won't happen again. Artemy may as well have became his own Isidor, having nto constantly live up to an idea of a man, becoming simulacrum of a simulacrum of a simulacrum, until he returns to Artemy, the ripper. And even that is just a simulacrum of an idea of a man. It's 4 am and I can't fully flesh out my thoughts on the matter, but just smth about Haruspex's route resonates with Blood Meridian to me. Slavic Blood Meridian, if you may. Either way, as an Appalachian man, I resonate a lot with Artemy. I too am educated and yet still cling to the silly appalachian superstitions of sweeping under feet and knocking on wood and ignoring the supposed voices in the woods. Daniil will always be my emotional support white boy tho. Or transmasc. I don't know there's no way that guy isn't lgbt bc no one wears snakeskin duster and black platform boots unironically and isn't a fruit

Is the Homestuck brainrot still going strong?

I would really love to see your thoughts on the upcoming installment in the series. Pathologic 3 is focusing on Daniil and knowing how special this character is to you I would really find that to be a super entertaining video. Considering the game isn't even out yet, I'm sure for a fuller length video you'll need more content to actually review it. Nonetheless I'm sure you're equally as excited as the rest of us!

I only played pathologic 2, and the herb brides and the way Eva dressed irked me. Not in a way that ruined the game, but more reminded me that I'm playing a video game. There is no scantily clad male counterpart. A tutorial with an herb bride shows her completely topless, and all i could think is "ah yes, any excuse for bewbs." Because if you're writing lore for a game, you can write any justicification for boobs. There are no even any topless men in this world. I was so entranced by this world, but the herb brides reminded me it was a video game and gently took me out of the experience. It wasn't a deal breaker by any means. I really love playing pathologic 2 and am looking forward to pathologic 3. But I was always surprised no other reviewer mentioned how weird it is to see people fully dressed for cold weather and then just Eva and the Herb brides dressed for hot weather.

I keep mumbling 'this is so homestuck coded' during the intermissions bc im lowkey forgetting just exactly im watching LOL

i bring chicken and dumplings with some added carrots, green beans, mushrooms, and corn. the dumplings look a lot more like biscuits but it's quite good! i also bring a punch bowl of a light green drink that i swear is lemonade and after cautiously taking a sip it does indeed appear to be just exotic lemonade. (it is actually just several bottles of calypso kiwi lemonade dumped into a bowl with some lemon slices to be fun and goofy)

As a player I've found Batchelor's ending gloomy and unsettling. The music, colors and overall tone of the ending roll felt like he was being played by Kains and their lust for power. The image of Town's ruins and Polyhedron, rising from the ground like a giant wasp nest, was utterly frightening. I feel like idealistic young people like Daniel, Eva and Stamatins are often being manipulated by powerful elites, who pretend to match their ideals but ultimately want immortality for themselves. In Changeling's arc, Stamatins even say that Polyhedron doesn't make sense without people of the town. Peter build it to be a Utopia, but it was used as a body for a one aristocrat fearful of his own death.

A year later and I still find this to be one of the best video essays I have ever seen

I love this. I like the interpretation that Peter is either too depressed or never took care of himself before that he made a dish that’s inedible lol. I would also love to imagine that one day he mustered enough energy and made a “utopian creation” dish that just defies all laws of the universe. Like the donut in everything everywhere all at once. And turns the potluck into a lovecraftian abomination of a party. And Andrey will be like that’s my brother what a genius

I am only partway through this video right now as I listen to it at work, but so far it's very well done, and I love the passion behind it. Thank you for the incredibly moving music and this very well made essay.

Everything i could say has been said by others here but i cant help but say it again This is exactly the experience, whether you read it in 9 days or over a period of years, whether it was as it released and you dropped it during a massive hiatus and never returned, followed every update religiously to this day with homestuck beyond canon, or only picked it up years later with no idea about its history. This is how it feels everytime

I brought bottles of kefir because I love to see the opinions on it and we needed more beverage options. Algorithm boost aside, I love love love the character analysis potential when it comes to food. Clara's felt perfect because I feel similarly about her the way I do puppy chow- indifferent and a bit unnerved about the affection towards it.
