Indeterminate and Determinate Tomatoes and Why You Should Mulch
Do you know what variety it is? And did it make it through most of the winter?
I like you Luke!
Hey Luke, good luck mate, hope it works out!!
Is the texture of these like a mushy fig? Or do they still hold up similar to a fig?
It is kinda soft like a fig but much denser
Just found your channel and subscribed! Hello from The Hunter Valley in NSW 😊

do you notice that the plants need more or possibly less water with this much mulch? Also, how long have you let the mulch break down before planting directly in it? I'd imagine you couldn't plant directly in a fresh pile of 1.5m of mulch until it would begin breaking down for some time. Very interested in your thoughts. Thanks
So I put 1.5m after about 6 months it broke down to about 300 mm. 200 mm was black humus worm castings and the top 100 mm was more thicker bigger pieces that take longer to breakdown. Then I put another load on top and waited another 6 months. It breaks down quickly first up because the soil organisms are hungry because most soil doesn't have any carbon for them to munch on. One thing I've noticed with the watering, I don't water at all and you know how with your plants when they fruit if you don't water them and then you water them heaps they split well you don't have any of that because there's constant moisture not too much, not too little.
@@LukesEcoGardenInsights Thank you so much for your response!!!!
No worries mate, thanks for watching!
