Protoni oli suomalainen rock-yhtye. Yhtye perustettiin Jyväskylässä vuonna 1997.
Protoni aloitti uransa omakustanneyhtyeenä nimellä "Parempi". Nimi muuttui ja Sony Music tarjosi sille levytyssopimusta vakuututtuaan yhtyeen musiikista. Vuonna 2001 ilmestyi single "Taivaanrannan taa". Ensimmäinen albumi, Leimattu, julkaistiin seuraavana vuonna.
