Model Y Anti-Glare Screen Protector
This Spigen anti-glare screen protector is a great accessory for the Tesla Model 3 or Y. It protects the main display, prevents glare, and prevents fingerprints almost entirely.

If there was an award for the most useless video on the internet; this would win
lol, thanks for wasting your time here then
This is what bothers me about the Tesla cargo specs. Some how it boasts more than most crossovers and I think even the Rav 4. But I easily fit 2 large mountian bikes in a Rav 4 with front wheels off. It just does not look wide and tall enough in a Model Y. The cargo in the Y is split with some of it under the floor and not useful for bikes.
It is for sure a different shape, but for most of my use cases like roadtrips and loading stuff from Home Depot it has been great. I have a couple videos comparing a Rav 4 to the Y with roller bags and they are very similar in size, but as you mentioned it may not be as useful for certain shaped items like bikes.
20” don’t change much compared to 18”, for some reason the worst range configuration is 19”
Best video ive seen so far. This is how you make a video!
I've measured the ground clearance of both my 2020 Model 3 Performance (US built) and my 2021 Model Y Long Range (China built). M3P: 14 cm (5.5 in) Stock 20in wheels MYLR: 18 cm (7 in) Stock 19in Gemini wheels
That's not the true height measurement s. There are actually an inch or two of extra height due to the hood arch.
Fair enough; I would be very careful about using any extra height in the frunk though since it does not auto close and you have to push with decent pressure to close it so it would be easy to push it down and bend the hood should you load something a little too tall.
I've just purchased the rack from Thule (Swedish company) and the bikes sit quite a bit lower than on your rack. I hope my range will be less effected. Thanks for the video, enjoy!
I wanted to replace the usb flash drive I've been using to an SD card, mainly so I don't kill the device prematurely. I bought the SanDisk MobileMate USB 3.0 Reader, which I read works well. I also have 2 microSD cards: SandDisk High Endurance 256GB and SAMSUNG 128 PRO Endurance. My issue is the same with both of them. I plug it into my Model Y (2022), it says I need to format it. I click the format button, format finishes, but then shows as if I didn't plug anything into the USB slot. (I'm using the USB in the glove box). I've tried multiple times, but to no avail. The SD cards work fine, as I've been using them in my other dashcam with no issues. The card reader also seems to work fine when plugged into my mac. Any ideas?
Sorry to hear that. I am not sure what would cause it to not show up. On our newer Y I have just been using the USB stick that came with it. Maybe I should see if I can swap it out.
Doesn’t any of these reviewers own a tape measure? When I go to home depot I don’t purchase 11 roller bags. Geezz
Awesome, glad you liked the video :)
Great video. Quick question if the fog light clips broke off can we replace the clips or do we need brand new fog lights?
I am sure you could replace the clips, but I am not sure how easy they are to find. Much more difficult and I would have had to take it to Tesla to repair probably.
Great video!
Just came up with this video, really good content. The only thing that for me is not accurate is the way you measure leg room. Leg room should be the space between the back of the rear sets, to the seat in front of you, in a straight line at the height of your hips when sitting.
Thanks for watching. I am not an expert at measuring these things by any means; however, I think for the most part the two back seats are very similar. Where you get the real advantage in the Y is in the height which for me makes it fell much roomier because my knees are not so high when I sit in the Y
Thanks for sharing your opinion on both models. 😊
Damn you
kinda seems like the car should come with those...
Here’s my comment to help the algorithm hahaha good video! Can’t wait to receive my model Y!
'promosm' 👇
I believe its like gas. If you drive aggressive before you charge you'll lose some miles.. drive more efficient and try to at least reach 4.6-4.8 m/kw then charge to 80%-100% you'll gain all those miles you'll lost. Thats how my Bolt is.. also if you dont need to use highway, don't. Drive on street if you have too. Have a good day..
Been driving with M3 rims on MY for 4 months... no problems whatsover
Interesting; which M3 wheels are you using? Are you seeing any efficiency gains?
I needed a bit bigger second row (in width) but looks like upgrading from 3 to Y will not make any difference... shame :(
Yeah, that is the bummer. With the height it is definitely more room, but as far as width goes it is essentially the same
@@whatdrivesyou6798 why does the rear seat mid section in the Y look wider though? Are the outboard seats narrower?
@gaurav170889 the designs of the stitching are different, but I don’t think there is really any difference with the padding underneath
The 70-80 MPH obsession to keep up with the herd is a big problem. Slowing down to a conserving 69-65 MPH is usually less noisy and more in the spirit of efficiency that EVs were supposed to bring.
Finally a real world highway test. The Achilles heel of EV's. Thank you! PS: What battery size?
This was the original long range Y rated for 316 miles combined city and highway when I got it. They released a software update that later improved it to 326, but I am not sure of the battery size. I think it is somewhere between 75-81 usable.
Have had a Leaf since 2016. Temperatures really impact range. Difference in temperature from 75 to 55 will definitely matter. So it’s not a true comparison unfortunately.
I leased two different LEAFs on two year leases and I would agree that temperature had a very large impact on the range for the LEAF. I believe this is due to the less efficient way they try to keep the battery temperature ideal. Tesla has very good temperature management for the batteries so temperatures have much less impact on range when compared to LEAF. However, temperature still has an impact especially at the extremes.
I wish you didn't measure everything in body-parts 😕
Excellent video and test - finally as real a world test (that I have found). If you drive the speed limit in Michigan you WILL be tailgated and flipped off. It does not matter if the State police are around or not.
Nice thanks, was exactly what I was after
11 minutes 💀💀💀💀
It was really interesting, thank you. However the route is too small, if you could make similar comparison based on some longer route you probably have, that would be even much better :)
Thanks! Sadly, I only had one more comparison drive and it was the same route in reverse. After using v12 for a few hundred miles though I am confident in saying that it is far ahead of v11 in almost all respects.
@@whatdrivesyou6798 Great! How many times less it gets into potentially unsafe situatins? I have v11 now and it produces them a lot (except for some very simple routes)
V12 gets in fewer potentially dangerous situations and handles getting out of them much more gracefully usually. Lots of awkward steering and abrupt braking with v11 where as most everything is smooth with v12.
@@whatdrivesyou6798 At what factor you think potentially dangerous situations are fewer? About two times fewer, 5 or maybe about 10 times? It is very interesting how you assess this factor.
@luc2095 I have had so few disengagements on v11 and v12 that I would consider dangerous that if would be hard to put a number on it. I think unprotected left turns and high speed cross traffic intersections are the places I disengage the most and are potentially dangerous and v12 is better at those, but still not perfect. Usually I disengage because the car won’t go and I feel like I will just be stuck there or am holding up others unnecessarily.
04:30 - my GPS devices (both my Garmin and that provided by Google Maps, Apple Maps, etc. on my iPhone) all know to tell me to stay in the right lane, in preparation of the upcoming turn into the parking lot. It's strange that FSD doesn't have that _forethought_ Thanks for the upload - I'm not a Tesla owner yet, but FSD improvements/reliability are critical before I take the plunge. I appreciate you taking us for the ride.
Some lane choices are certainly odd. If it could get the speed and lane choices down I would probably be able to do almost all drives with no interventions now.
👍
my guess as to why it did a loop.. It wanted to park off to the side. So it did a loop to pull next to the building.
Makes sense, you are probably right about that. I still haven’t seen it park
Pretty decent
Is this a joke? Model Y has WAY WAY more room than Model 3. Model 3 has zero foot space if you put driver seat on the floor which I do. Seat is 3inch lower too. And you have a lot less headroom as well. Im literally changing from a 3 to a Y because the backseat is infinitely better in the Y.
The lower seats makes a big difference and I agree that the Y is more comfortable, but this was really a comparison of just the seats which are very similar. The hope I had initially was that the Y would be wider, but unfortunately it is not so the middle seat is still rather unusable. We love our Y though and if you want more cargo room and more comfortable seating for taller passengers in the back then it is certainly an easy choice
finally someone doing higher speeds than the very common 70mph. Thank you, this is more real world as i usually do at least 80...
Thanks for comparing. Does the model 3 also have seat height adjustment on the passenger side?
Yes. I think that the lumbar support adjustment was something that was removed in some years for the passenger seat, but otherwise the seat adjustments are the same between the driver and passenger
Honest truth
I can afford a model 3 but not a model Y, I've got a dog so whilst I'm totally sold on the spec in an M3 compared to other electric cars, I just can't see it being practical for dog owners like me ? Whether I had a Y or an M3 I'd always have to buy extra matting and protection to stop the dog hairs but this saloon/sedan configuration is pretty crap i.e. There are very few dog guard solutions that allow you to keep the dog in the boot with the back seats down, similar to like a fireguard ?
Right now the Model Y is actually cheaper than the 3 in the US with the 7500 tax credit. Looks like the 3 gets the credit applied to a lease, but for purchasing in US I think the Y would be a no brainer.
@whatdrivesyou6798 - It's the reverse here in the UK, the new 2024 M3 is cheaper than the Y- Maybe they've positioned it that way with the loss of the indicator stalks and most people disliking the idea? I bit the bullet though and ordered the M3 lol, I'll make it work with the dog and no indicator stalks 🐕 😅
These cars are so noisy, my X5 is about 63 decibels at around 70mph, and it doesn’t change much even at 80mph.
How is it at the shoulders height? Would the baby seat has more space when it's rear facing?
Thank u for the video. I hit a mailbox. This definitely helps
promo sm 🤦
Also consider that this test puts the heat pump at a disadavange. Major sources of heat for cabin heating by heat pumps come from recycled heat generated during normal operation. That would've been wasted heat in resistive heating systems.
while the rear seats are not wider, the usable width of the Y is greater. you can easily see that by looking at the arm rest. the arm rest and middle seat is actually wider so it is easier to accomodate 3 adults where, the rear seats of the 3 is middle arm rest is smaller and the seats are more sculped making it really only usable for 2 adults. a lot of the rear seats of the 3 width is wasted on the side cushioning due to the sculping. the rear seats in the y are flat. so more of the Y's width is actually usable. this is why you cannot simply use interior dimensions as a true comparison as the seating position and sculping of the seats change the actual usable space.
May you give ur opinion which is comfy seat among these 2 cars
I think the model 3 had softer seats, but the y has more room overall so kind of depends on personal preference
Thanks for this. Also wondering about backing up to a supercharger with the bikes on the back?
Definitely not possible to back up to a super charger with this. Maybe with the V4 where they have longer cords, but I haven’t seen a V4 to do any testing with yet
Are you stating wh/mile is consumption rate or distance travelled?
Wh/mile is consumption rate.
Who cares about the road noise when most tesla cars rattles as f!!
So helpful! Thank you
What is even the point of this video?
Thanks for watching
Dude, you are so sloppy, you are using the same towel for everything. Lazy. Hahaha!
