F’n Warrior. Nothing … Not one thing was easy for those two weeks. You never quit. Forever proud of you Puddin.💪💛✨
When the line of fear approaches, crossover, and that’s where real life begins and Strength is born. Still watching even though I am on the AT🎉
Wow, just caught up to this video after commenting on an earlier one a couple of days ago. What a horrible experince. Glad you made it. Thank you for your detailed account.
That exposure is rough
I am glad you had a friend waiting for you. Getting caught in storms like that is no fun at all. I am glad you got to see all the Mustangs.
Hope you feel better soon.
Listen to your body and get the miles that it will let you. Once you recover the bigger days will come back.
Brittany, you’re not alone, you have a lot of folks sending good wishes and positive vibes your way. We are all proud of you👍🏻👏🚶♀️
thank you so much! That means the world and makes my heart so full! Thank you for the encouragement, support and following along!
Brittany, it could be a side effect of the antibiotic, but I would think that possibly you also have a bug such as Giardia or other stomach ailment. If it persists more than 2-3 days, get to a doctor. Other than your stomach, you are hiking strong and look healthy. Just do what your body will let you do. Hope you feel better already, and it was just a 24-hour thing. Vomiting and diarrhea are sure ways to become dehydrated again. geek
So awesome, what a hike for the books! Thanks for sharing looking forward to the next part🤗 Happy Hiking🏔️
Congratulations on the 20+ day! You're doing fine Puddin'. I can see that you're still a little weak but you're hiking strong girl. Stay warm. Hike safe, Hike strong, Have fun! geek
Antibiotics kick your butt when trying to hike a big day!
Antibiotics are the worst 🤮
Great job, you have a lot of people pulling for you, one step at a time 🚶♀️ 😊…
Thank you so much! I appreciate your kind words and encouragement🤍
Taking it slow is a good thing! You got this girl! You will get your strength back and be able to hike like you used to do. It will just take time. You look good, you look happy and you look like the wilderness is what you need. geek
Even though you weren’t back to 100% yet … so good to see that smile getting brighter.💪✨👏
Are we going to keep up the daily videos?
@@ISuckatHiking for now, that’s the plan! Im experimenting currently and still learning the game lol
@hikingwithpuddin awesome I love following I started before my AT thru hike, so excited to see your whole journey! Keep it up.

I love watching you walk. What a great stride! I hope that I am around when you come back to finish. I would love to do the Gila with you. Another great video. Be careful listening too much to backseat driver’s.
@@margiegray6766 I’ll most definitely keep you updated! I’d love to hike some miles together!
Try to get a massage when u get home in va
wonderfull place ! looks like Pyrénées mountains to me :-) thanks for sharing
I’m so glad you are ok. Hypothermia is scary stuff. I’ve been a paramedic for 25 years and have both seen and personally experienced the effects. My heart goes out to the other hiker’s family, too. ❤
Holy Crap! I am glad you made it through all this. Prayers to the family of the other hiker. Hypothermia is no joke, I hope your story will inspire others to research the early signs. The Self Hypothermia test is how I stay on top of it. Finger to thumb is the one I use, If I start having dexterity problems I make a fire while I can. No matter where I am, I hunt and fish all the time, So just going in and warming up isn't a choice most of the time. Not sure if you know Snazzy he had trouble on the CDT this year. Remember one thing that can always start a fire. Red Pine Bough. If you can see dead pine needles on a pine tree anywhere by you, You can light them on fire no matter if they are soaking wet. It is best if they are on a tree and the branch snaps off, Pine is full of turpin which is like gasoline for fire, Just try and find the driest branches you can. I know you might not be in that situation again, But it is handy to know just in case.
Food looks delicious
Your story just blew me away. Initially I stumbled across your Day 56 video, and then checked out the surrounding dates. I am so glad that I did. Watching Day 56, it comes across as a pretty standard "day after a cold and wet night" story, and in the morning you have a good attitude about it. Then a phrase caught my ear...when you said "mother nature is great, but she can kill you in a moment". At first I thought "Huh? That seems like a pretty extreme thing to say just because you got a little wet and cold!" Now that I've watched the videos before and after and have more context, I couldn't have been more wrong. In your Day 55 video at 2:10, the jump from "embrace the suck" to "I am in a life-or-death situation" is jarring and scary. The next 30 seconds are the most raw, real emotion I've seen in a long time! When you started to cry in today's Day 57-60 video, it was the moment you realized that you were way, way across the "tough vs life-threatening" line and managed to make it back. I'll be honest and tell you that I cried too, because it was only then that I myself realized how bad it was. My hat is off to you on so many fronts. First, not letting yourself fall asleep when you were hypothermic was fantastic decision making. Second, you are incredibly mentally tough. The fact that you had a good attitude the morning after almost freezing to death is a-ma-zing! Third, you never complained once. You are a rock star!
@@marcohanig176 thank you so much for your comment! It can happen so quick and I’m truly thankful to be here! Mindset and attitude is everything! I’m glad you found my page! Thank you for the support, engagement, and good vibes!
Holy Shit Puddin. You are very lucky. Not panicking probably saved your life. That could have ended very bad for you or anyone else in that situation. OMG. PRAYERS FOR THE OTHER HIKERS FAMILY.
Good grief pudding. Your exactly right.listen to your body. Your a tuff girl but not bullet proof.your a inspired by new things. But take it slow.be safe
@@Goruckyourself68 so lucky! Not panicking and mindset is everything! It’s crazy to see how quickly things can happen! Thanks for watching and your support! I hope you are rocking it on the AT!
@@steveharter9449 I think I’m slowly learning I’m not “bullet proof” haha it’s always nice when you can look back after you survive the wild adventures lol
@hikingwithpuddin that happened to me this spring.went to er not feeling good.not knowing I'm a diabetic and my blood sugar was 1,200. It's scary as hell when medical professionals look worried. Ya never know sometimes a persons percerverenc and stubbornness. We forget to take care of ourselves. Hope your back at it soon. There's times you have to think of yourself not the journey. With that smile of yours you can fool people and press on but don't fool yourself. Be safe😁 keep smiling
@@hikingwithpuddin I am on the AT and getting it done.
Awesome! It all worked out and your outlook and attitude are something I wish more people had.
@@DJMoore-001 sometimes I think our outlook just depends on what we’ve been through and choose to see as perceptive at times… pushing on is always a choice. It usually works out exactly like it’s supposed too! Very thankful our paths crossed and you found my page and can resonate ✨
I have found that when you really need to talk to someone about your life, about your hikes, about your gear, about your experiences or just to get you head right, you can talk to anyone but unless they have thru hiked, you are always left wanting. geek
@@jamesadams2334 I couldn’t agree more with this!
Brutally beautiful
It's so nice to get to town after a rough day
@@ISuckatHiking always! Town is AMAZING
Not a good night 😮. But they all can’t be good. These are the days that only make you stronger.
always! Its the lessons that turn into blessings in disguise!
I think maybe it’s time for some new equipment and boots
You’re a beast, Brittany 💪🏻👏🏻
thank youuuuuuuu! We all have it in us somewhere
I really enjoy your videos, thanks for putting the effort into it. I am wondering where I will see the southern terminus first: in one of your videos, or when I am starting my Nobo thru hike next spring😊 Also: end of grizzly country? What about the Winds?
I carried pepper spray through the winds but not bear spray. Due to the permit situation I walked from 2 medicine to chief mountain then shuttled back to 2 medicine to walk south. I’m working on putting together a video from top to bottom but the first few videos on the playlist may help you! Good luck on your nobo hike! Glacier is a great place to end
I’m so glad you’re okay! I experienced something very similar on the CDT San Juan Mountain section earlier this year. You are so right about having to stay calm! I’m quite certain that fact (and Jesus’ help) are what kept me alive!❤
im so glad you are okay! It can happen so quickly and unexpectedly at time.. im still traumatized from it, honestly
Do you see yourself switching to boots ? That could be insulated
This might be your best video. I am glad it all turned out on the good side. I am really glad you know some survival skills, I have away's wondered about that with hikers. I am always surprised by how little people don't take just in a car on a sight seeing trip. I was breaking horses in Jackson Hole for a man in 1993, July 4th Yellowstone got 18 inches of snow. Jackson got 6, I think every coat in town was sold. People on vacation didn't even have coats. I really hope that your video can teach someone how to get warm and save them self. Awesome Job!
this was something I wish I would've known a bit more about so I def hope it helps someone moving forward! This was a hard one to make, I really appreciate the support and engagement!
@@hikingwithpuddin You did awesome. Thanks for just being nice.
Brittany you are strong and your determination, intelligence and God kept you alive. I’m glad to finally see this episode. Releasing your videos this time of year is good. All but one of the hikers I followed this year finished, so you are the only hiker that I can watch.
Awe this makes my heart so full! Thank you so much! It feels good to finally knock these out.. life has forced me to slow down and its been fun reflecting and seeing the journey now im sorry they took so long but I think I needed the time to actually process now.. its so hard to explain, im in tears at times as im reliving these moments and sharing them. Thank you so much for being apart of my journey and all the encouragement and support!
Your on a roll! Glad you were safe
thank you! it was a scary experience but always nice to look back and be able to tell the story lol
Your hair always looks so amazing always love the braids
So glad you were level headed during that night. In the Army after long movements in winter I have seen guys drop left and right like flies from hypothermia. Not panicking is key. Way to go😁
Thank you! It was scarier after the fact.. at the time I didn’t really take it all in. Things can happen so quickly and within a snap. That section was like no other that I’ve ever hiked.
@ a good amount of pushups always will warm you up quick. Hard for a cold body to warm up the down in the bag. It sucks but doing whatever you can to warm yourself up before you climb in that bag will warm it up quicker and warm you quicker as well. I am no thru hiker like you but have spent more than half my life in the woods.
@@Goruckyourself68 I did the whole scramble your feet and work up heat but not push ups- I SHOULD have been doing push ups lol that keeps the arms going too..
@ and you do not have to get out of your bag to do them. 😁👍
gorgeous views
So gorgeous. Pictures and videos don’t even do justice at times
2 days in a row your going to spoil us!
Haha I’ve been forced to recover so this slow down period has finally gave me enough grace to get some more out and rolling! Thank you for your continuous support and patience! I’m excited to catch yall up!
Don't be afraid to say hi. In town I don't talk to a lot of people. Out on the Mountain I talk to everyone. But then on the Mountain is my comfort zone. Awesome video.
The mountain is my comfort zone too. Real life society brings so much anxiety and stress when the mountains bring alignment!
@@hikingwithpuddin I agree, It seems like people in groups are crazy. Maybe all the division in our country causes some of it.
I Like seeing how people react to Wyoming. I used to chase cattle all over Wyoming for different Ranchers up there. The sad part is this area will take some years to recover from the fires from this year. If they don't destroy it mining for the Lithium in the deposits there. Sorry I wasn't trying to be a downer. A storm chaser I watch was there this year showing the fires. My Son lives in Riverton, I am from Wyoming so it is home no matter where I am. Thanks for another awesome video, It's funny how much new shoes can just turn the world around.
I was surprised how beautiful Wyoming is. It did almost kill me but I can’t wait to go back. I feel like it’s so underrated and don’t get enough credit at times. Especially the wind river valley. So cool you use to chase cattle. True country rhere
@@hikingwithpuddin Wyoming is a Very Beautiful state. I might be biased a little. When you go back, Check out the Cody area and the Big Horns. The Big Horns have the Medicine Wheel, I think you would love that. You can feel the energy there.
Beautiful hike
