Checking Out: Bar Stella Abyss (PS5, Nintendo Switch) | Nippon Ichi's Japan-only Roguelike RPG

And Bluesky! ► bsky.app/profile/spinningedge.bsky.social
Bar Stella Abyss was released by Nippon Ichi Software on February 29 2024 exculsively in Japan for PS5, PS4 and Nintendo Switch, with NIS describing the game as a "roguelike strategy RPG". By drinking cocktails with other bar patrons and heading into the drunken world, "The Wanderer" works to find their lost arm and face. I tried to play the game but was really bad at it. I'm sorry.
I used these sources to get information about the game in English:

Follow me on Twitter: x.com/Spinning_Edge The Like A Dragon series (previously Yakuza outside of Japan) has become hugely popular in recent years. Rumours and discussion have persisted for years however on whether SEGA and other Japanese video game companies have, or have had, ties to the real-life Yakuza. In today's video, I discuss these rumours and whether I believe they hold any merit.

    Besides their contributions and the quality games Japan studio has made they never sold well like they were the studio that make great games but no one ever buys them because they’re niche. Hell even I didn’t know Japan studio until like a year ago and only Japan studio game I played from them was blood-borne I did start playing their other games like gravity, Rush, ape, escape, and legends of Dragon and they’re really good. It is really disappointing that people didn’t buy them out here. I’m pretty sure more people pay attention to the fact that the studio was shut down then their actual games and I think people just spin it in a narrative to make it look like Sony cutting away They’re Japanese roots even though the Japanese roots was more good creativity, but bad for business. That’s crazy. That’s the most attention. I think Japan studio got them getting shut down but team Asobi look like they’re doing good for such a small team they made Astro bot which was a really good game and sold like 1.5 million copies in two months. I wish it would’ve sold more but games like this usually sell like 2 to 3 million copies considering they’re not that popular in the PlayStation ecosystem compared to something like god of war or ghost of Tsushima I wonder what team asboi next game gonna be it could be Astro bot 2 or they could just do something new

    This was well edited. NIS games tend to be hit or miss for me but what you showed of this game still looks kinda cool. The drink mechanics especially. Maybe we'll luck out and they'll translate it soon. Keep up the good work~☆

    KyoAni has to be my favourite Anime studio, I don’t like all of their works but the animation style is enough for me to watch them. When I first watched Full Metal Panic I hated it lol, but I watched Fumoffu/Second Raid because KyoAni did them and I actually really enjoyed them. Keep up these videos, I’ve been watching some of your other ones and they’re actually really interesting. 9:20 agreed lol.

    I do believe that us getting Persona 3 Reload and Metaphor ReFantazio in 2024 has allowed Atlus to push Persona 6 a year or two after those games. I could see them doing something similar to GTA 6's reveal, where it's revealed in December this year and slated for 2 years after, so a 2026 release which I think is plausible. And even with the original P3-5 creators leaving, Persona 5 Royal and 3 Reload have been pretty solid, and it would be interesting to see what the new people in charge do with Persona 6 with possible deviations from P3-5 like you said

    Persona 6 is coming out the same year Grand Theft Auto VI is coming out so it's in 2025. Believe me it's all a marketing thing because the Grand Theft Auto series develops hype for just video games in general so that would be the perfect time for Persona 6 to come out Persona 6 news following a few months after Persona 3 reloads release

    I don't get it, Atlus is well-known for being greedy. P6 should have been released in 2020 already, and by now it would have like a billion DLC and maybe a spinoff or two. If that new project developed for 7 years flops, then what?

    • @DragonKingX78
      @DragonKingX78 11 месяцев назад

      If Atlus never made those lame Persona spinoff games who knows what interesting games we could have gotten.

    • @makotonarukami7468
      @makotonarukami7468 11 месяцев назад

      Listen to the nature of Atlas to milk the personas series in terms of spin-off so Persona 5 milking isn't done yet are most likely on the verge this year to be done milking could get a Persona 5 fighting game by the end of this next year lullaby news of persona 6 which will come out in 2025 the same year as the new Grand Theft Auto

    • @SpinningEdge
      @SpinningEdge 11 месяцев назад

      Yeah I feel like the unpredecidented popularity of Persona 5, as well as the P5 team working on Metaphor, only incentvises them to milk it more to be honest.

    A lot of the games' name is a word play on their number in the series. The 2nd game, "tsu" sounds like the English word "two". The third game "sun" sounds like "san" which is 3 in Japanese. For Puyo-puyon, "yon" means 4 in Japanese. "Fever" sounds like "five".
