    Utterly charming that Peltokoski throws in an apparently spontaneous quote from var 18 Rachmaninoff Var on a theme of Paganini. Check out her smile as he sneaks that in. (see 2:03). I think he really surprised her. I was there at this concert and totally missed the joke. Nice to be so relaxed in front of 2,800 people you can be so playful!

    This is actually a really good way to practice scales. Yeah, it definitely takes some time to get the coordination down, but once you start getting it, it's a really fun exercise. Mad skills once you can do this in every key, both major and minor scales.

      @Lewis Levits google what? the fact that he has lots of haters just bc he plays like a showman just like liszt? I do in fact know how many notes a piano can have. it could either be 67 or 88 or 108 for a real piano. why dont u suck ur own b*lls and continue listening to ur favourite 19S interpretation that has one of the best players: horowitz cziffra josef martha instead of hating on a modern interpretation that played on the 20s without even trying to listen to it properly

      Agreed. So sentimental, rhythm all over the place, banged out. The original is so emotional but this rendition has destroyed it all.

    • @patrickbluelinecollins

      Ah so you are the world's greatest pianist?and not Lang Lang go away please and criticism from you is so pointless.

    • @jadeothen6057
      @jadeothen6057 Год назад

      @@patrickbluelinecollins You don't have to be the world's greatest pianist to know this is bad. LL is overly sentimental, which takes away from the actual emotion. His rubato and phrasing is all wrong. He bangs everything out, so he doesn't have a good singing tone like every concert pianist should have. There is no need to insult people who make a valid point, instead, make yourself sound like you know what you are talking about by describing why you think he is so great.
