I can see TLD2 reaching a wider audience this time because of the urban environment. But for me, it's exactly what's putting me off already. The main thing I liked about the long dark was the fact it was set in such remote wilderness for the most part. I guess the Wintermute Story might lead it to build up areas but the main part of the game being Survival Mode, it doesn't really lend itself to a city setting with lots of other characters. If Hinterland simply brought multiplayer co-op to TLD and kept adding more challenges, that would be more interesting. But that's just me

Lmao the long dark has been in "Early access" for 10 years now, and they haven't even completed wintermute the story for it, yet they finish a dlc and announce a sequel while the original product remains incomplete. The only company I trust less than hinterlands would be Ubisoft

Your list is tantamount to saying that the Mona Lisa, Munch's Scream, Whistler's Mother, Guernica, and Warhol's Campbell Soup Can are little known and obscure artworks, or that Star Wars, The Exorcist, The Godfather, Casablanca, and Titanic are underappreciated.

"Most underrated games" proceeds to use an ai image of hollow knight for the thumbnail and talk exclusively about super beloved and well regarded indie darlings. Unfortunately I feel like this channel is just trying to harvest views through thoughtless content.

Strange list...these aren't really underrated they're just indies. Most of these had a TON of people talking about them when they came out but many gamers only pay attention to AAAs so they don't even notice that stuff like what is listed here even when it does pop off.

One underrated game that I don't think I've *EVER* seen someone mention is Transcripted. It's a mix of a shootemup and match 3 colors genre with a surprising focus on storytelling including voice acting. I've beat it many times but always go back to it eventually due to it being a short fun mix of something that's like nothing else. Less than 10$ on steam as well as having a demo.
