Ls swaps, stick shift trucks, boats and quads
RARE! 02 Silverado 4.8 5 speed
I picked up this truck from the original owner custom ordered it from the dealership. It is a 2002 Chevy Silverado with a 4.8 LS motor a five speed NV 3500 trans. it has power windows, power lock power captains chairs with the center console, 3.73 limited slip rear . The plans are to clean up the frame and lowering it 3 inches in the front and 5 inches in the back for a nice cool spunky daily driver.

My first top speed run with my 408 LS with a lsa supercharger 80.1 mph on gps @5400 rpm with a 28p 4 blade bravo one labbed prop. still more tuning and prop changes

hey Joe, do you remember what you did for flywheel? running into issues with that right now.
@@DerekIwasiuk I used an LS7 flywheel that I had laying around and it worked well

@@6.0joelsx60 say what you want but the ls surge at idle instead of lope sounds like complete shit. That and the fact they are ugly as shit is the entire reason why i would never own one. Regardless of how much power they make. It sounded nasty before. After it just sounds stupid.

Did you use the automotive ECU? If so how did you wire the shift interupt to shift from forward to reverse?
Automotive ecu idle set low goes right into gear

I used 10w40 mobile one diesel oil

What throttle set up? I’m assuming it’s no longer fly by wire
It is all drive by cable are used the stock, boat throttle cable and I rigged it to a stock truck throttle cable

You're just using a stock water pump? They're trying to sell me a marine specific pump... Also, what did you use for mounts?

@6.0 joe Lsx you know the difference between thinking and knowing? You don't think it will; but I know it will. May not even be by much, but if your wheels were perfect beforehand, they damn sure won't be after then wheel weights here you come...
You could rebalance the wheels. No big deal.

Nice set up, how much do you feel that supercharger upgrade? I dropped in a 6.0L LQ4 into a 18ft Glastron bow rider. 😅 It’s a fresh water boat with an alpha stern drive. I’m going to run the alpha drive until I can get a bravo. Used a Hardin Marine flywheel and the Alpha bell housing. I need to setup the cooling exhaust and ignition and tuning and…and…and…
You feel it alright! I wouldn't put a blower on your motor till after you get a bravo my cam only 6.0 did 72 in a 23 foot Baja islander
@@6.0joelsx60 yeah I don’t think the 18 ft could handle a blower…it had a 225hp 4.3 vortec and it would do 55mph empty. There’s no trim tabs so it might get interesting…lol
@@ditchbangracing6351 once it's propped right that thing is gunna move! The 6.0 will be lighter then the 4.3 because of all the aluminum parts
Thank you for posting these videos. It has renewed my motivation to finish this setup. Also gives me an idea of what I need to do. I wasn’t sure if the power was going to make a big enough difference for the swap. I have to either move my bench seat forward or swap the accessories. I need an inch and a half to keep the belt/pulley clearance. Moving the bench forward is a lot of work or swap the accessories for $$$

I'm rebuilding a spare 6.0 for my daily driver, once I do the swap I'll rebuild the 6.0 I pulled... It'd be really beneficial to me if you discussed a little more of the "how to's" for this boat swap. I'd love to have a 6.0 boat.

@@roadwarrior4615 considering I bought the boat for $1500 with no motor or drive I would say yes it went faster... I think that boat goes 62 mph with a 454 big block check out my other videos I sold that boat but too the motor out and supercharged it and put it in a new boat!!
