The reason why the Earth is getting hotter! Karen left the burner on!
I have a 2014 Chevy Silverado 1500 ltz 5.3 liter and big O tires wants $1600 to do my oil cooler lines replacement and the oil pan and oil pan gasket. I literally laughed. And I said I could do all this at home in 2 hours for a total of $128.78 for just the parts and labor FREE !
$1600 or anything close to that is crazy! It’ll take more than 2 hours! Nevertheless, it’s worth saving money where we can! Be safe and use jack stands!
@endlessmilesrider6756 That's Colorado for you. Real expensive for no reason. If we were back in Illinois. Then I would have had it all done for nothing. Because my father is a mechanic. But, I don't see it all being more than a 2 hour job because I use an impact wrench so that takes the bolts off fast. And to pull the clips out they should just pop out like you said with a pick and the tubes should not be too hard. And my oil cooler line is right next to my filter in the open. I stick my head under there I can see it. I don't have mud flaps or a bar going across mine. It's all open access. And then the pan itself will be easy. And then the VVT solenoid is fast
Where did you get the brackets to secure your deck to the trailer?
@@livesinshadow4386 - nothing special. L brackets from Lowe’s.
The Simpson Strong Tie DJT14Z Deck Joist Tie is a stronger alternative to nailing for deck joists. It is made with 14 gauge Z-max galvanized steel and can be installed with eight 16d nails or 2-5/8 inch bolts. It can be used with a 2 x 4 joist and a 4x 4 post minimum.
@ thanks! 🙏
I'll take it
Nice quality workmanship my friend!!! I like the details so far. I love the etrack system option as well. I made my queen size bed into a redneck mechanical one and works amazing. Very good video......I just replaced my father-in-laws oil cooler line on his 2014 Silverado. After watching your video......I was fully prepared to complete the task. It was also nice knowing the socket sizes ahead of time. Thanks again!

Does the main water valve increase the pressure of the water
Sounds like maybe you’re not getting enough water pressure? If that’s the case, then it could be your water heater being clogged with many years of mineral deposits. Water heaters should be drained at least once per year or whatever the manufacturer recommends. The water valve has little to no impact on the pressure into the house when fully opened. The city/private company controls the water pressure as they have to meet minimum water pressure distribution to ensure safe drinking water from external pressure pushing contaminants through broken pipes. .
Very nice video. It seems this is our problem. Right by the oil filter ! Where to get the good parts cheap ? Cheers mate !
Good luck! Thanks!
Also we noticed the two fans do t seem to go on but no over heating yet at least. I checked fuses all seems fine
Hi there. We’ve got the same truck. Our seems like it’s leaking a bunch and j thought oil cooler or lines but it’s coming from middle areas close to oil filter above. Any ideas? Also driver side next to tire under neath. Cant see much Oil in the power steering too
Tough to tell without pictures/video. Buy an endoscope that attaches to the phone. Only about $30, but comes in handy to see things in tight spaces. Mine has a long reach to view. Good luck!
The cemetery is a very humble place. It’s basic as it can get almost like the western frontier days. Dennis Hopper must have been a humble man! 🙏🏻🤙🏼
Thanks for the video.. Graveyard looks more like a sandpit. And no disrespect to anyone. Just seems like a very basic grave and graveyard. Maybe that's what he wanted. Thanks for the video
nice wood what size and make is your cargo trailer?...pete.
An 8’ x 16’ Continental. They could’ve done a better job with sealing all the way around, particularly the underside.
Looking Good, like the wood,
Thanks 👍
I got a 24' haulmark car carrier trailer, I just used e-track 2 x 4 brackets up in the front for a bed, it is foward of the side door, storage underneath, there is a portable toilet under it, e track runs down both sides 20'.another way to do a bed is on hinges, fold down with 2 legs
any more updates on this?
I’ve completed the linear actuator work, but I’ve considerably slowed down on any more fine refinements n the conversion due to weather and being recruited back to working in the corporate world taking on a mgt. position. I’ll get back on it on weekends and when weather gets better! Thanks!
Hi mate, have a look at firgelli automations.. you can get a control box the links 4 actuators sync together.
Holy crap Batman! That electrical panel is a little overkill isn't it...
Yup! I just a new panel lying around. So, I put it to use versus buying another smaller one.
How tall is the rig currently ? You have to consider bridge clearance in travels...
About 9’2’.
What if you put a hatch in that deck using stainless piano hinge that you could open for the fan or perhaps 6" little storage area for cushions or the like.
Great idea!
@@WallyZ1950 - there’s enough space for the hood to open. But, you have a good idea! I guess could make the hatch with a stopper so that it can’t be stepped on and crack/crush the Maxxfan plastic hood. Then cover the hood with protective film to protect it when raising the hood to lift up the hatch.
I did that maybe a few nights ago and did it today
I didn't know Halloween was actually July-October 31, hm
Crazy stuff!
Vent the fuel tank? Check fuel lines/filter?
It's nice to have the open feel because it's more spacious. The track looks cool.
Thanks!
Awesome bed. I hope you get more views!
Thank you!
Great job so far!
Thank you!
👍🏻👍🏻
Very cool! Can you install an adjustable limit switch or stop block? With a mattress on there it won't go as high right?
It should stop at the upper end of the actuator, but I haven’t pushed it and tried it yet.
Nice work.
Thanks!
Lovely sink.
Thanks!
Nice little solar setup. Greetings from Jamaica.
Thanks! Greetings!
I don’t think the high frequency inverter is large enough to run a small hot water heater at 2000 watts . 🤨Maybe go to 24 v with a 3 - 4000 watt low frequency inverter May run the small water heater . Make sure you have plenty of PV modules to supply enough power 😊to help keep the batteries charged while running the heater and without running anything else to overload and trip out the inverter . May the solar be with you .😉
Thanks! Currently I only have 400 watt (4 - 100 watt PV panels).
24 volts is useless in small systems.. As everything is 12volts. Why I wish people would get an education in Electrical Theory..At least get a Commercial Electrical License...
Connecting + to +/- to - will give you 2 x 230 ah (460 ah) at 12v. Your inverter is 12v, so you can't use it in a 24v system.
Thanks! I just learned that and hooked it up in parallel as my inverter is only 12v.
Following
Update?
Almost! Just hooking up my 12volt electrical system.
I've got 2 of theirs and they are great. Imo you can't have too much battery :)
Glad to hear their batteries are working great for you! I hope that I have the same experience!
I think I’m the only RUclipsr who lives in Pueblo and also I was in third grade when that happened
Sleek indeed! Can the speed be adjusted?
Thanks! Only one speed. Probably a good reason so as not to damage the motor or the mount.
Are you going to also have a City Water connection?
At this time, no shore connection. But, maybe later to fill up the water jericans.
No.
I have and idea! You can get custom poly cutting boards to fit over the sink opening online. I got one for a folding table next to my OD grill.
My show mocks the video
My trailer is all aluminum, but I will not mount through the roof. If I put solar up I will build racks that will come off the sides only. Just want to avoid all roof leaks as much as possible. Thanks for posting, looking forward to seeing how it turns out. Cheers
Thanks for your input! If the panels are side wall mounted, a better chance of getting damaged by flying rocks, accidental bumps by others, and perhaps more appealing to thefts? When screwing and drilling on roofs of cargo trailers (and homes), we just need to make sure to carefully penetrate as straight as possible without making the hole bigger. And thorough sealing of the penetration (top and sides of the exposed screws). Use of butyl rubber (tape) on the surface (roof) of the trailer where the self tapping screw will penetrate. Then I’ll follow up caulking using DynaFlex 230 around gaps near the screws to create an air tight seal. I’ll caulk over the screws too to encapsulate. I’ll now and then do inspections initially and then do a quarterly inspection to ensure the integrity of the install and caulking.
@@endlessmilesrider6756 no, I would put solar on the roof on a rack, but the rack would be mounted on the sides of the trailer. I see them do it for all the ladder racks. Cheers
i am looking forward to see how it turns out. I am picking up a cargo trailer this fall to make toy hauler camper - I will start in the spring Cheers
Awesome! I will share what I’ve learned researching across RUclips. I’m taking little bits here and there of what others have done and making it better, including my own original stuff where I can. I’ll be carrying two big bikes in my trailer. An Indian Chieftain and a BMW R1250 GSA. And maybe even a Vespa.
Don't forget to make a wiring diagram/schematic for future reference and troubleshooting.
Are you going to install a ceiling vent fan?
I bought two Maxxair fans to install. Thanks!
Do you need any kind of moisture barrier with that insulation?
I’m not aware. I’ve installed Reflectix insulation on top of the 1/4” plywood which is over the foam board insulation.
That's great! 8.5 x 16...That's big enough for a full blown tiny home! You'll have fun 'creating your new camper. My little 4x6 v-nose camper is way more 'compact'. I added a 48x68 Diamond plate front deck plus roof rack and rear hitch rack, for my 2KW Inv-Gen, LP bottles, Solar pnl, Awning and Toys! 3 cabinets hold cooking stuff. and the 24"TV/entertainment ctr. Tri-fold sofa-bed; 5K BTU AC, elec heat and induction cooktop all run off the inverter. Pulling it with a 1.8L Scion XD averages about 24mpg. No showers or kitchens. It's a rolling bedroom that my wife and I share a twin bed in. lol
Kewl!
