You had me at A Discovery of Witches! One of my all time favorite series. So disappointed with the tv series though because they cut out so many great parts of the books.

I love manga! If you're curious about the genre, may I recommend "A Story of Seven Lives' ? It is a stand alone, and only takes like an hour and a half to read. Trigger warning, there is some animal abuse/violence, but it is not too bad and really serves to strengthen the narrative imo. I read it from the library and it was so beautiful, but made me cry, like a lot! Great vid! You're doing amazing!

I’ve heard so many people giving fairly negative reviews of A Tempest of Tea which is sad because it sounds like it would be right up my alley too! I’ll probably try it at some point but definitely not high on my list. I just cleaned out my shelf and unhauled Mrs. Dalloway because I’m not interested so I guess I made the right decision haha. I feel you on having different books by the same author be on opposite lists, that was like Leigh Bardugo for me this year! Such a confusing experience… And you gotta have at least one controversial opinion in these types of videos! I definitely want to check out Robin Hobb and see how I feel about her books/writing. Also I have had Out of Love on my shelf for several years and haven’t picked it up but now you have me wanting to read it, haha, I know that wasn’t the point of the video but I’m glad you loved it!

When I read To The Lighthouse by Virginia Woolf, i had a similar experience lol. We read it in a western literature class and even with the professor explaining things i couldnt appreciate it. Hmmm...i remember the professor talking about her stream of consciousness style.

I think The Farseer Trilogy continues to get better and better, but they do all remain slow-paced where Fitz is going about his day. I loved it from the start though, so maybe the writing style doesn't suit you but I'll keep my fingers crossed!

you should read throne of glass! i’m on the last book and it’s genuinely one of the top three book series i’ve ever read. has amazing female leads and the characters are just perfect and so well written 💕

The Secret History is my favorite book of all time every time I picked it up was like pressing play on a movie 🍿 it was so exciting to read and so beautiful yet also thrilling and shocking at times 😂

So many of these are on my TBR, especially I Who Have Never Known Men, Alone With You in the Ether, The Serpent and the Wings of Night, Strange Sally Diamond, Shades of Magic, and The Secret History (good to know about the audiobook for this one)! Really need to continue/finish the Belladonna series too...
